*The Final 2 castaways walked into the Tribal Council area with their torches lit. Joel was leading with the Immunity Necklace he had won the night before around his neck. Closely following behind him was Gretchen. They both looked happy but nervous. They rung the gong once each for the last time in the game. They then entered the Tribal Council area. Joel and Gretchen then placed their torches in their slots and took their seats.*
"Welcome you two to your Final Tribal Council. Before we begin, I would like to welcome in the jury."
*One by one the jury members walked in: Sean, Ramona, Stacey, Sonja, Greg, Gervase, and Colleen.*
"So, tonight is a very big night. One of you two will be walking away with the title of Sole Survivor and one million dollars. This is very big and I know that it is going to be very interesting to see who wins. So, let me give you a run-down of how this is going to work. First, you will both be given a chance to address the jury with your opening statements. They then will follow that by asking you both either a comment or question that will help them decide who to vote for to win this game. After they have all finished then you two will have one last time to address the jury with your closing statements and then the jury will vote. So, now, I want to start by letting each of you say whatever you want to say in your opening statements. Joel, you're up!"
(Joel) Hello Everyone. Well, well, well, Final 2. I know Greg and some others liked to point out, I'm cocky enough to admit that I knew I'd be here the entire time, lol. The infamous, "Cheers, to the final 2" that everyone in the Final 5 got from Greg at one point or another, that first came from me. It's true. I had a cocky attitude from start too finish... with the possible exception of when I nearly got de-railed at the F5 by Gervase, Gretchen, and Colleen. Everyone here that made the Final 9 made it because they had some sort of stratedgy, and nearly everyone's stratedgy had something to do with "deception." I'll say right now, that with only 2 exceptions, I never decieved, tricked, or lied to anyone in the game. I didn't need too. I didn't need too play the nice guy either, I let Greg do that. (Which seems funny now considering the circumstances of his boot, lol) I wasn't the nice guy (Greg), or the deciever (Sean), or the one the was overtly strong at team immunties (Ramona), I played the "Down to Earth Guy." From the beginning to the end, all I told people was what they "wanted to hear." "What they need to hear." Round after round I just took players situations, and gave them a 'twist on it.' The responses I normally got were things like, "That makes sense." "You make a good arguement." etc. Of course, I could have said anything to save myself, but hopefully people would think, "Joel's just giving it to me the way it is," when in truth, I just wasn't 'lying' to you. I was just giving you a perspective on your game which would keep you from voting for me. I'm pretty sure I've discussed my stratedgy before at TC, but that's why I'm here. That along with making sure that I win the immunities that I had too win. Like the last one. If I didn't beat Colleen at the FC IC wouldn't be here. I think this vote is as much of "why you should vote for me" and "why you shouldn't vote for Gretchen." From the moment that Pagong booted Jenna in the Sixth Episode, Gretchen was the 2nd Pawn of the Pagong tribe. (Gervase being the 1st, but Gervase was being a pawn on purpose.) People would make Final 2 alliances with Gretchen because they could beat him seemingly very easily. He was just srung along, didn't put together any plans, all the plans were set up by Ramona, Colleen, myself, and Greg. He didn't win any indiviudal immunities, regardless being in the game the whole time. He'll say it's because he was sliding UTR and didn't want to be a threat, but frankly it's because he was relying on someone else to just string him along in another plan. Regardless that everyone thought I was one of the biggest threats in the game, I never once got a vote that was threatening to eliminate me. The only votes I got were 2 random ones, (1 from Ramona who was just trying to cause trouble, lol, and one from Stacey, which doesn't make sense to me to this day, and I think it was just a random vote.) Regardless everything, NEVER ONCE did anyone put together votes against me which slightly threatened to eliminate me. Even at the F4, where I came in seemingly screwed and didn't win immunity, I got 0 votes. Anyways, I don't want to make you read another one of my novels so I'll make my close statements short and too the point. "Cheers!"
(Gretchen) Hey guys, It's the final 2, as well all know, and Im happy and proud to be here... I worked hard in this game. I had a strategy and kept to it... though I didnt win any individual immunity challenges, I strategized... Immunity challenges were a no-no for me most of the time. I thought it was kind of dumb (no offence to the people who tried to win ICs) to go for immunity, if you're safe, and put a target on your back. I flew beneath the radar at every Tribal Council, and managed to only get only one vote in the game, in the final 4. I strategized at every second in the game. I jumped from alliance to alliance to secure my position, and I knew where everyone stood. I lied a bit (only to the people who lied to me mostly). I had to suck up to people sometimes to save my own butt (pure manipulation), and I did what I had to, to get to the final 2. I played a good game, as did Joel. And it's up to you guys to decide who shall win. Anyways, I'll stop rambling on and save some stuff for the questions. That's all.
"OK, Thank You! Well now jury, it's your turn to either comment or questions Joel and Gretchen. It can be anything you want it to be but it is supposed to help you decide who will win the million dollars. Alright, I think we can start with Ramona."
Ramona- W ho, if not the 2 of you, deserve to be the final 2?
(Gretchen) I'd say Colleen, definitely... and... Gotta go down a bit... to you I guess. Both great players. Ramona, you got taken out because everyone figured you out, and Colleen because of the F3 immunity challenge. The rest of the players, no offence, didn't do such a great job. :P (Joel) There are 4 people on the jury who deserved a shot at the final 2. You know who you are. The jury member who most deserves to be in the final 2 is Colleen. And he came within 1 immunity of making it. The person who I originally though would make the final 2, and potentially win, was in-fact you.
Greg- Well, you both played a great game, one of you deceived me, the other stayed loyal *grins at Joel*. I think the best move was to vote me off, so maybe I should vote for the "best player". But being loyal is important, so maybe I should vote for my bestest buddy... You know what, I think i'll vote for both qualities. So, one last time, I say cheers to final two, to you two... the fuck with it! CHEERS TO YOU JOEL! But before I vote, I must honour the original Greg and ask you: Gretchen, choose a number between one and ten. Joel, a number between one and ten. Thanks for your answers.
(Joel) 1.625 repeating and by the way, Greg did you just say that Gretchen played a better game than me? That's pretty harsh. (Gretchen) I choose 5. Kiss my ass.
Colleen- Whoever answers me directly and honestly gets my vote. It's as simple as that. Why does the other person NOT deserve a single vote. Please do this without saying how you were better or more intelligent...no comparisons to you. Just why the other person should lose in a 0-7 vote. Thanks and great job getting to the F2.
(Gretchen) Why does Joel not deserve a single vote? That's a toughy, I'll admit. Well, the only thing I can think of is he relied on Immunities to go far, and just immunities most of the time. I didn't see much strategizing from him, besides his strategy of winning immunities and going far that way. When I tried to talk up a strategy with him most of the time, he'd just say "I'm relying on Immunities" or something like that, which shows a lack of strategizing. So that's why. (Joel) OK. I'll start off by responding to Gretchen's statement first, which is complete bull and utterly hypocritical to say that he stratedgized and I didn't. Everyone here knows I never once needed immunity, with the exception of the last challenge. Both you (Colleen) and I would have taken Gretchen because he doesn't deserve to win. I only even tried hard to win twice, the other times were just immunities that people handed to me, like the "Bullets and Tower" Immunity. Why Gretchen deserves no votes is simple: He relied from start-to-finish on other people carrying him through the game. No one here could tell me one point in the game where Gretchen was in control of anything. If you could, please feel free... (Gretchen) That's complete bullshit Joel. NO ONE carried me here. I SWITCHED alliances numerous times and I didn't lag onto people to carry me far. I dont know how that got about but its NOT true. Let's see... When I was in control of the game. When Colleen, Gervase and I were planning to vote for Greg. Colleen was kind of worried about me. I believe she didn't trust me, and she wanted reassurance that I would stick to the plan. Another time, when I APPROACHED you in the Final 4. YOU, yourself was worried that I wouldnt vote with you and vote for Gervase. So dont give me that bullshit. I am part of the reason you're here, because of our plan.. without immunity you wouldn't have made it to the Final 2, if I didnt make this plan with you. I dont like this rep I got as tagging onto people, because it's not true at all. I got here BY MYSELF. And I would really like some proof/spec as to how I did just ride on people's coattails. Show me... Im waiting...
"Alright, enough, enough" interrupted Jeff. "I know this could go on forever! Next jury member up: Sonja!"
Sonja- Great job on making it to the Final 2. My question is why do you deserve to win?
(Joel) Would you like it in point form or in an essay? lol, j/k. To summarize, I deserve to win because regardless that everyone knew I was a threat from start-to-finish, (that I was controlling most of what went on in the tribe and in the game,) I still managed to go through to whole game with only getting 2 (less-than-serious) votes. I controlled, or co-controlled 95% of the game, including the final stratedgy which landed Gretchen and myself in the final 2. I spawned and initiated that stratedgy, and Gretchen more-than-likely wouldn't be here without me. If I had been voted out at the Final Four, Colleen would have won the next immunity and taken Gervase. Gretchen wouldn't even be here if it weren't for me. (Gretchen) I deserve to win because I played a very good game strategically. Even though I was seen as the 5th/6th whatever wheel I got to the final 2. I managed to get only 1 vote (which was not very important). I did control (no matter what anyone says) the game sometimes... If I didnt, and I was the last wheel in the whole Pagong tribe, howd I get here? The final 2 strategy with Joel, I proposed to him (I started it, he was hesitant about it; how he initiated it I dont know?) and that's what got us to the final 2... and even without that strategy, seeing how Colleen voted for Gervase at final 4, I would've went to the final 2 with her I think. As you can see, Im basically copying Joel's format, to contradict his "facts". Now Ill go into some more info. Apparently everyone on my tribe saw me as the last wheel like I said... But I managed to get here even though I was. I passed round after round, without getting a vote (until the F4), and cutting deals (with Ramona [which I betrayed :S], Colleen) and Joel now which got me to the end. Regardless of how some people feel about how I played and my strategy, I feel that I did play a good game, which got me here to the end. I didn't rely on immunity (two reasons: I didnt want it [puts a target on ones back like we've seen], and I didnt need it), and still managed to get to the end with just one vote. Pre-merge (although Im sure you don't care, because you were on the opposing tribe), I won one (or two?) immunit(y)(ies) for my tribe, and made a gathering place for us (that MSN group no one used. :P lol). I, with Colleen got rid of the power-player of the game, Greg, and I believe we were both equally responsible for that. And Id like to conclude with that I was an active player in the game. That's all. I'll stop rambling now. :P lol
Gervase- Just to let you both off easy, I already have made my mind, So I've decided that I will not be sticking you both under question terror, I will instead, let you be fine and dandy and not have to worry about me.
Stacey- Joel, why do you think that you should be the "SOUL SURVIVOR"? Why do you deserve it? Also, you said that you got 2 random votes one surpriseingly from me, well, I know for a fact that you had more than 2 random votes...think about it you just plain out lied right there...Convince me to why You should Be the Soul Survivor. Gretchen, I really have nothing to say to you, except, that I think from what I know, you did GREAT in making it to the F2!! Mostlikely you have my vote right now...the reason is that you had great strategies, and really did have great ways to save your ass...lol...HOPE YOU MAKE IT!!
(Gretchen) Wow, thanks Stacey. Im glad that a few people recognize the way I played the game as good, and not as luck, or riding coattails. Because I did not get here by those ways. Thanks again! :) (Joel) Stacey, I don't really know what you're talking about, I only got two votes all game, no more. One from Ramona when Ramona got eliminated, and one from you when you got eliminated. I think you're thinking of Gervase who got multiple votes. Ask anyone, I got 2 votes. Stacey, Sonja, you are the most difficult people to preach to because frankly, you weren't in on any of Pagong's dynamics, and didn't see much that went on. I can say that voting for Gretchen is a huge mistake. If you did so, it would have to be because you're voting for who you like, not who played the best, because Gretchen SURELY didn't play the best. Gretchen didn't play at all. I can say that at least the other 5 of you know enough about what went down during the game to see that 95% of what Gretchen is claiming is a lie. He can arbitrarily contradict everything I say all he wants, but it doesn't make anything he says true. You all know what Gretchen's role was in this game; he can lie and try and sugar-coat it all he wants, but he did NEXT-TO-NOTHING in this game from start to finish. Period. I ask one thing of the jury, and that is please don't be a hypocrite and just vote for the person who was the nicest to you in the game. If you were in the final 2, you'd find that totally disrespectful. Vote for the person who PLAYED THE GAME THE BEST, and no one could say with a straight face that that person was Gretchen. The last thing Gretchen or I want is to win a tainted final 2 because people just voted for who they liked or who was nice to them. And the last thing the jury needs is to come off as bitter and childish like the jury in Survivor Amazon. I've already explained to you why I was the best player out here, why I should easily win over Gretchen, and why there is no chance in hell you should vote Gretchen ahead of yourselves. AT LEAST 5 of you on the jury played better games than he did. Easily.
*The host calls on Sean to comment or question on the Gretchen and Joel but he refuses.*
OK, thank you jury for your comments and questions. So, we are almost on the vote but before we do so I would like to give Joel and Gretchen one last time to try and convince you that they are worthy of recieving one million dollars ($1,000,000) and the title of "Sole Survivor." Since we started with Joel last time then Gretchen, you can go first.
(Gretchen) First, I would like to direct something to Joel... Joel, you DONT know how I played this game (well I think you do but you're making it out to be horrible)... This bashing and your stupid opinions and facts are not true... And everything you're saying is a lie. A few people on the jury see through your lies, because you went too far. They're not stupid. They know what I did with them (play with them, that is). Saying that I did "NEXT TO NOTHING" in the game is a huge lie. I did a lot, and I've showed it in my answers. I'm not going to bash your gameplay to get any votes, but I could have and can. Oh and Joel, if I don't win because of that, that's fine but I don't like people seeing me as someone who did nothing in this game because of it.
Secondly, and lastly, to the jury, obviously. I played the game the best I could play... I will sum up my strategy. I tried to stay below the radar, and that doesn't mean I was inactive, because I was active. I did make moves in the games...major in some cases... Ramona, Colleen, Greg, and even Joel knows it (even though he's denying it and saying all I said is basically crap). And even though I was seen as the last wheel in my tribe, I did get through to the end. He also said that I didn't make any choices for the alliance, and any major moves. That's a plain lie right there, because I'm sure some poeple in the jury could tell the opposite of that. I managed to get to the Final 4 avoiding all votes, until Joel set me up and got Gervase to vote for me. I played a good game and managed to the Final 2. How I got to the Final 2? I asked Joel for a Final 2 alliance (he didn't approach me; FLAT OUT LIE), and made sure Gervase would go, because everyone wanted him in the Final 2 with them. I had to add that last part of my speech in there because Joel shouldn't be lying to the jury in the end, which he has been about me and some other things (I hope you'll reveal that in your final words in the end Joel ;)). That's all, and I'll respect the decisions, you (the jury) make. It's just a game and no hard feelings.
Good Luck Joel, and good game everyone. (Joel) I promised I wouldn't torture you all with another novel, so I'll keep these words simple. I'll just repeat what I've asked before, and ask the jury to please not just vote for the person who was the nicest during the game, or the person who you fell didn't baskstab you. Treat the vote how you'd like it to be treated if you were in the Final 2. Vote for the person who "played the best in the game." If Colleen etc. had made it out of the Fnal 3 this vote might be more up in the air, but if Gretchen wins it's going to reflect more on how bitter the jury was than how well Gretchen played. Gretchen can lie and manipulate the truth in his answers all he wants, but I think the majority of you can tell right out that what he's saying isn't true. Gretchen was the fourth-string player on Pagong, at best. That's all I ask, "Vote for who played the best" because that's how you'd like people to vote if you were in the Final 2. That's all. Also, congratulations Gretchen on once again bringing up no knew arguements even in your closing statements, but instead simply contradicting everything I said, and feeding off my lingo. Once again Gretchen shows what he was good for in the game, copying and clinging to other people. He couldn't even bring up his own arguements in the game, he just contradicted everything I said. Gretchen is full of shit, and his entire Final 2 game plan is to use non-sensical arguements to contradict I say. If Gretchen wins this game, God help us.
"OK, well this has been a very revealing Tribal Council I think. So, now we are on to the voting. This is the last time you all will be voting in Pulau Tiga so vote what you really think is right. But, know this, you are voting FOR a winner. Write on the paper who you want to win. The Final 2 WANT to see their name on the paper. OK, so, for the last time in Pulau Tiga, it's time to vote. Ramona, you'r up."
*Ramona casts her vote*
*Greg casts his vote*
*Colleen casts her vote*
*Sonja casts her vote*
*Gervase casts his vote*
*Stacey casts her vote*
*Sean casts his vote*
*When Sean returned and sat down Jeff spoke to the castaways.*
"I'll go tally the votes."
*Jeff walked out of the area where the Final 2 along with the 7 jury members sat. In that urn just a few feet away was seven votes that would crown either Joel or Gretchen the winner of Survivor: Pulau Tiga. A few minutes later, Jeff walked back by the fire and stood infront of the castaways.*
"This has been a long jury and I would love to read these votes now but we are going to have to wait until we get back to the United States. I will see you all there. Bye!"
*Jeff walked into the Tribal Council area that has been set up in CBS Studios in New York City. He had the urn in his hands and contained inside of the urn were seven votes. These were the final votes of the game and tonight, Joel or Gretchen would walk away with one million dollars ($1,000,000).*
"Hey everyone. Hope you are all excited to be here like I am. So, inside this container are seven votes and tonight one of you two will be walking out of here with one million dollars in hand! That is a lot at stake so I want to make sure this is totally fair. But first, I want to make sure the jury hasn't talked to anyone about who they voted for. I am hoping they have kept this all a secret. Have you?"
*All of the jury members nodded their head simultaniously.*
"OK, so here is how it is going to work: I am going to read the votes. Their are seven of them so it only takes four to win! Are you ready for me to read them?"
*The Final 2 replied with an emphatic 'YES' and there was an uproar from the audience.*
"Ok well, here we go!"
First Vote:

Next vote:

That's 2 votes for Joel. Next vote:

Next:

That's 3 for Joel, remember it only takes 4 votes to win! Next vote:

That's 2 for Gretchen. Joel still has 3. Vote Number Six:
So, we have 3 votes for each of you. It has come down to the last vote. Whoevers name is on this paper will win. Final Vote:
...The Winner of Survivor: Pulau Tiga is...

CONGRATULATIONS JOEL! YOU ARE THE WINNER OF SURVIVOR: PULAU TIGA!
"Let's now welcome everyone in."
*All of the castaways walked in and started to hug.*
"Well....again....Congratulations to Joel and Thank You everyone for such a wonderful game! Good night everyone and we will see you in February for Survivor: Australia. See you then!"
GOOD NIGHT NEW YORK CITY AND CONGRATULATIONS TO JOEL, THE WINNER OF SURVIVOR: PULAU TIGA!!!
