Dr. Lunatic Supreme with Cheese Terminology Defined

Add-on World
Add-on Worlds are worlds that can be downloaded for free at Hamumu.com. There are 100's of worlds available for download. We recommend that you try them all, but not until after you've completed the ones that come with the game. There are two reasons for this. First, there is a Gallery Goal for 100% completion on all worlds and the more worlds you have, the harder this is to accomplish. The other reason is that the World Select Menu will be overwhelming for a new player if you toss them all in before you even get started. Naturally, the don't download recommendation doesn't apply to any worlds produced by Hammered or Christian, which are so amazingly wonderful that they should be downloaded the instant they become available.
Art Gallery
The Art Gallery is in the center right portion of the SPISMall. You must buy access to the Gallery in one of the shops. Access to the individual pictures in the gallery is gained by accomplishing a Gallery Goal.
Author
Also called world builder, the author is the creator of a world, usually one person, although people have been known to team up to create merge worlds and pass along worlds.

The primary objective of any level. You need to collect all of the brains in a level in order to be able to leave it, although some levels have additional criteria imposed by the author.
Brain Radar
Specific flavor of Frozen Yogurt that provides you with the ability to detect Brains. The radar shows up as a trail of green circles that get smaller at the actual location of the nearest brain, even if that brain is being held by a monster. The radar is only active if you haven't found a brain for a certain amount of time, but if you find it annoying, you can turn it off from the Profile.
BTA
See Bouapha's Text Adventure.
Candle
A secondary objective of any level. You need to collect all of the candles in every level in order to be able to reach 100% completion in a world.
Candle Radar

Cheats
An illicit power up. If you cheat on a level, you will not receive any points for a level. Editor
A tool used to create worlds, accessed by selecting Editor from the Main Menu. You have to buy the editor in one of the shops in the SPISMall. If you haven't yet purchased the editor, a bunch of question marks will show where this choice will live in the Main Menu.
The editor can also be used to hunt down items, such as keychains and secret levels, when you just can't locate them in a world, although it is not very easy to do so. If you just need a hint, try our Poor Folks Radar page.

Gallery Goals
Gallery Goals are 100 specific goals which are supposed to be accomplished. The reward for each goal is access to a picture in the Snooty McSnobbish Art Gallery in the SPISMall. The picture may or may not be related to the goal. There is no indication of what an individual goal is inside of the game, until you accomplish it, in which case, a screen pops up telling you the goal's number and what the goal was. A complete list of all the gallery goals is available here.
Game Pause Menu
Also called Pause Menu, it's displayed when you hit the escape key while playing a level. This menu will pop up in the lower right corner of your screen. If shows the percentage of the world that you have completed and indicators for items collected including all brains collected, all candles collected, the four keychains, and the Key of Lunacy, and access to cheats and various optional settings including music and sound options.
Hub
The level displayed when a world is first entered. In the editor, the hub must be the first level.
Level
A stand-alone playable unit, usually entered from the hub. In order to successfully complete a level, you need to collect all of the brains in it, although there may be additional criteria set by the author.
Key of Lunacy
A color changing, glowing key, also called a Loony Key, one Key of Lunacy is awarded in each world, typically in the hub for completing the world, but there are worlds where the key is hidden or awarded for another reason. Note: There are even a few worlds that don't have Loony Keys! See our Poor Folks Radar page for a complete list of the locations for the Loony Key for every world. Keys of Lunacy are used to open lockers in the SPISMall.
Keychain
There are 4 keychains, hammer, rocket, squash, and pumpkin, which are scattered throughout the world. There are pictures of all of the keychains as well as a Key of Lunacy on top of our Poor Folks Radar page. This page also shows the locations of all 4 keychains in each of the worlds. Collecting all 4 of these keychains will usually give you access to a special keychain level, which is typically entered from the hub. The vast majority of keychain levels include pumpkins, although this is not always the case.
Keychain Radar
Specific flavor of Frozen Yogurt that provides you with the ability to detect Keychains. The radar shows up when you leave the level as a shaking X on the level's entrance, but if you find it annoying, you can turn it off from the Profile.

Lockers will award you random items, from access to some of the worlds included with the game, stashes of coins, new game playing modes, playable characters, and more. A grid showing the contents of all the lockers in the SPISMall is available here.
Loony Key
See Key of Lunacy.

Move and Shoot
A specific flavor of Frozen Yogurt that provides you with the ability to fire weapons while you are moving. However, if you use this feature, it will slow down your movements. A corollary of that feature is that if you are moving on slippery surfaces such as ice, or other unsafe surfaces such as negotiating terrain over islets, you can force slower movement by firing while you are moving.
Pass Along World
A world created by multiple builders that pass the world from builder to builder as levels are completed.
Patch
A periodic release by the software publisher either to upgrade the program with new features or to fix outstanding problems. The current release of Dr. Lunatic Supreme with Cheese is 7.7. You can find out what release you have by looking in the upper right corner on the Main Menu. If your version is less than 7.7, you can upgrade it at Hamumu Software's site.
Pause Menu
See Game Pause Menu.
Playable Character
An alternative character representing the player. Playable Characters are acquired in the SPISMall and selected from the Profile and include Bouapha (default), Dr. Lunatic, Happy Stick Man, LunaChick, MechaBouapha, and Shtupid Shroom. These characters are pictured on our home page.
Profile
A setup for one player. Statistics and progress are stored with a Profile and multiple players can use the game without interfering with each other if they all have their own Profiles. You can upload your statistics to the Hamumu website so that you can compete for top scores and times on each level. The statistics are uploaded according to your profile name. If you are playing on a machine that has more than one Profile, be sure you are playing under the correct one when you enter the game. The profile is accessible through the Main Menu.
Radar
Specific flavors of Frozen Yogurt that provides you with the ability to detect various important items including Brain Radar, Candle Radar, and Keychain Radar.
Secret Level
A level with a hidden entrance, usually entered from another regular level, although it may be just a tricky entrance in the hub. Most worlds contain one secret level, but some don't contain any and some contain several.
Shop
Shops are found in the upper center portion of the SPISMall. You can enter any shop by walking in its door, but you must have coins to buy the things in the shop and buying something will remove the corresponding amount of coins from your inventory. Shops will sell you random items, from access to some of the worlds included with the game, special power ups like frozen yogurts and cheats, access to other parts of the SPISMall, playable characters, and more.
Four items are displayed when you enter a shop. These items are random (although they never move to a different shop). If you bump up against an item, you will receive an offer to purchase the item, including the item's description and its cost. This will display even if you don't have sufficient funds to purchase the item, but you will not actually be allowed to buy it if you don't have enough money. Once you purchase an item, it is yours and you can't get your coins back, so be careful answering the questions about whether you want to buy that item or not.
If you ever see an item you want to buy but don't have sufficient funds for, you might want to make a note of which shop it was in, so you can find it again later. If the item is not in the shop when you return, keep trying. It will show up again eventually.
Shop is also an option on the Main Menu and Game Pause Menu. Selecting it brings up the SPISMall.
SPISMall
A special world-like place where you can acquire items, spend coins, use your keys of lunacy, and more. This "world" is displayed if you select Shop from the Main Menu or Game Pause Menu. Warning: If you shop from the Game Pause Menu and you are in the middle of playing a level, you will have to start that level over from the beginning when you return to it.
Super Secret Surprise
See Bouapha's Text Adventure.
World
A set of levels, usually built by one author, typically with a common theme. The world is chosen from the World Select Menu, which will bring up either the world hub, or the last level played in it. In order to successfully complete a world, you must have completed all of the levels (including secret levels) in it, including collecting all the candles in each level.
World Builder
See Author.
World Select Menu
A list of worlds, from which you select one to play. This menu is displayed if you select Play from the Main Menu. If you are a newer player, there will be some worlds that are not yet accessible on the bottom of the list. These worlds may be made accessible in one of two ways; some of them have access hidden in the lockers in the SPISMall and some of them must be purchased in the shops in the SPISMall.
In addition to the name of the world, it also shows the world's author and the percentage of the world that you have completed. If you particularly enjoy one author's worlds, you can sort the list by author name by clicking on the Author column heading, allowing you to locate other worlds by that same author. Similarly, clicking the column heading will sort the list by the amount you have complete, so that you can easily find worlds to work on if you have a lot that are finished.
