The SatAM Prototype

This was the first Sonic prototype that was planned before Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It showed up in Sonic the Comic (UK Sonic comic) advertising the New Sonic cartoon airing soon. It was dumped, then they planned AoSTH.

Here are some scans.

This is Princess Acorn, then came back with a new design and simallar name in SatAM.

This was Dr. Robotnik's first design. He looks like a mix of his SatAM and AoSTH designs. His colors are wrong, too. For Example, his Mustache is white. Unless it was just a color error, but I doubt it.

He shows Princess Acorn and Sonic kickin' some Badnik butt!

Here, is the Freedom Team, the Rabbit is Johnny Lightfoot, probobaly turned into Bunnie Rabbot for SatAM, then there is Princess Acorn, then everyone's favorite blue Hedgehog: Sonic, then a peguin named Tux, then Chirps the Chicken, then Porker Lewis, Joe Sushi the Walrus (proboblay turned into Rotor), and some scientist bird: Flicky.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (AoSTH)

This was the first ever, aired Sonic cartoon by DiC Entertainment in 1993. It was very much like Looney Toons, but the most closest DiC Sonic cartoon compared to the games. With 66 episodes, it is the Sonic cartoon with most episodes, but not for long as Sonic X is currently in production with another 26 episodes. This cartoon features SegaSonic characters from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Some people hate this show, and some people love it. There has been some VHS tapes released that contain 2 episodes. It is currently airing in the UK on GMTV2 at 6:55 am.

Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM)

The 2nd cartoon by DiC Entertainment. This cartoon, is very popular. Even Archie Comics loved it enough to make a comic book series about it (check comics section). It used to air on ABC Saturday mornings, with 2 seasons that started in 1993 and ended in 1995. ABC stopped airing it due to, that ABC has a policy to airing 2 seasons, or the Power Rangers had to take it's place. There are VHS and DVDs out there, so go buy em'.

Sonic the Movie (OVA)

This was the 1st ever Sonic anime that came out on video in Japan in 1996. It was actually 2 episodes, released on seperate tapes. For the US, it came out as a Movie in 1999, you can go to your video store and find it.

Here are the teasers for each:

   Journey to Eggman-Land

The President of Sonic's world and his daughter Sera are held hostage by arch-villain Doctor Eggman! But when Sonic and Tails come to the rescue, they are confronted with a much greater threat: Doctor Robotnik's newest creation - The Dark Eggman has taken over Eggmanland and the Robot Generator in Eggman Land is about to overload and destroy the whole planet in the process, and only Sonic and Tails are fast enough to reach it in time and prevent the explosion! But is it a trap? On their journey the two friends have to face a lot of obscacles, the most dangerous one being none other than the Dark Eggman himself. Luckily, Knuckles the Echidna joins them in their adventure. But will they be able to make it in time?

    Sonic VS. Metal Sonic

After the shutdown of the Egg-Generator, Eggman releases his latest creation to destroy Sonic The Hedgehog - Metal Sonic, a robot which has the same speed and abilities as the real Sonic - and more. After Sonic has lost his first fight against Metal Sonic and everyone is desperately searching for a way to stop the robot, a new danger arises...Eggman has ordered his creation to destroy the Ice Bridges on the North Pole that hold the floating continents of Sonic's world together, which would cause them to drift into space and dissolve. Thus meaning the total END of the planet! Will our friends be able to stop Metal Sonic (who proves to actually have more of Sonic inside him than just a copy of his abilities) and save their world from destruction?

 Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie

The brave blue hero is back! And this time, it's more than just fun and games. That's right, Sonic the Hedgehog is starring in his own motion picture, filled with all the fast-paced energy and action-packed excitement that Sonic's famous for! Dig this: Sonic's arch nemesis Dr. Robotnik has been banished from the Land of Darkness by an evil Metal Robotnik. And if that wasn't bad enough, the devious doctor tells Sonic that the Robot Generator has been sabotaged and will blow Planet Freedom to kingdom come. But what could possibly make Sonic trust his worst enemy? What could make him risk life and paw? Surely not the words of Dr. Robotnik. Not even the pleas of the President. It's not until the President's beautiful daughter Sara turns on the charm that Sonic springs into action. But does Sara really have eyes for Sonic, or is she sweet on the new kid on the block, the never-before-seen Hyper Metal Sonic? If you've been waiting with anticipation for Sonic, you can stop holding your breath. But go ahead and turn blue with Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie!

Sonic Underground

The so-far last cartoon series by DiC entertainment, which first started airing in the US in 1999; and still airing on DiC Entertainment's block in the US on UPN at 7:00 am (Eastern) and 6:00 am (Central) times. This time, DiC took a different route. The only SegaSonic characters are Sonic, Dr. Robotnik, and Knuckles the Echidna. In this series, Sonic, his brother Manic, and sister Sonia, are are Royal Siblings in search of they're mother, Queen Aleena, is missing. With 40 episodes, this cartoon sickens many Sonic fans. Some people even like it. The thing most people hate about the series are the corney songs they sing, especially "We are Sonic Underground". Owwww.... my ears......

Sonic X

The current Sonic cartoon airing, in the US on 4KidsTV, in the UK on Jetix, and in Japan on TV Tokyo. There are 52 episodes, with another 26 (possibly another addition of 26 episodes) episodes in production. This cartoon, has finished airing it's 52-episode-run in the UK, Japan, France, and Australia, with the US having a few episodes to go. While 4KIDs messed up the dub for US and UK, France and Japan got everything: uncut. (lucky people :P). This cartoon has adapted story lines from Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Battle, with possibly a Sonic Heroes adaption coming in the new episodes. Also, there is a kid named Chris, who steals Tails' role. In this, Chris is Sonic's sidekick, not Tails. Plus, Cream and Tails only flies with they're tails/ears about a few times in the whole series.
