Superquad . . . who is he?

When I tell someone my nickname is 'Superquad,' I usually get a confused look because most people are unfamiliar just exactly what a 'superquad' is.  In high school, I was in marching band.  I played drums.  I marched playing snare drum my freshman year, and I quickly learned to play a set of drums called "quad-toms" (or "quads" for short).  Everyone in band with me knew I had a love for comic books and I had a friend who said that I "was the best she had ever heard play quads" and she gave me the nickname "Superquad."

(Some simple mathematics:)

Super + quad = Superquad (see photos below)

My friend told me that she made up this nickname from my percussive ability, the instrument I played (the obvious part), and to reflect my hobby (comic books).  Although the picture from my youth can be a bit misleading (I never was a huge Superman fan; I like Batman a whole lot more), everyone latched on to the nickname and felt it was appropriate.  Henceforth, I have been called "Superquad."

I also thought the name was clever, so when I had to pick an on-line persona, I stuck with the nickname I had already been used to.

I am also very visual, so to share a few more things about myself with you, I thought I'd use a photo album of sorts (with a few blurbs):

I'm a drummer!

I am a percussionist.

I am a student.

I am a Christian.

I am a husband.

I am an actual, emotive, person.

I am an artist.

I am art.
