SLF Sunday Night Results - Week 2 (Season 20): 2 - 6 0 - 7 5 - 4 2 - 5 7 - 9 Sunday 12th July 2009 6:30pm Miami Concubines Devastation 7:00pm Indoor Milan res' Aylesbury Legends 7:30pm Road Ducks Bedgrove Ducks 8:00pm Mandeville Titans Indoor Milan 8:30pm Road Ducks (2) Mandeville Ravens
TEAM OF THE DAY - DEVASTATION:
* Functioned well as a unit and always looked dangerous on the attack. Ben Gee in goal made some fines saves for Devastation and new signing Gareth Aldridge linked up well with Oli Garcia up front, overall a solid team display from Dave Cato's ever improving side!!!
PLAYER OF THE DAY - SHEVON TOUSSAINT (MANDEVILLE TITANS)
* The former Super League winner showed his true class tonight as he was simpley fantastic between the sticks for his lacklustered Titans!!! Even though his team eventually went down 5-2 to Indoor Milan Sheeve certainly deserves the award today because without him Milan could have clocked up some serious mileage in the goal difference department - Well done Shevy; "now thats what i'm dackling about!!!"
An Introduction to our League; The Super League was originally founded in November 2000 and initially consisted of just two teams. It took place every lunch-time for two continuous years at the John Colet school with sixteen seasons taking place in that time-spell. As time went by Taran Ashall's Super League creation grew in size and status due to the immense popularity that it generated! Due to the league being based within his secondary school Taran had to limit the number of teams that could get involved, this due to match day space. To ensure a fair yet valid league system Taran allowed just six teams to compete in one solitary premier division with the bottom team being relegated and replaced by the next team in the pecking order. The sixteen league and cup campaign seasons were a massive success at the John Colet school but was unfortunately shut-down in June 2002 by the school headmaster due to it's incedible populairty and intense competition; which regrettabley led to petit arguments and the odd case of violence deeming the result of certain "big matches!" After five years of waiting the Super League has finally returned to it's rightful home; promising to be bigger, better and more competitive than ever! This season the league will consist of ten teams that each play a eighteen game campaign; each team will play one game every Sunday evening. Kick-off times vary but will always be played between 6:30-9:00pm at Aylesbury College with matches lasting thirty minutes.
Key infomation:
* Each team must arrive atleast fifteen minutes before kick-off.
* If a team wants to postpone a league fixture they must cancel it atleast three days in advance; failure to do so will result in a club fine.
* Match fee of £17 must be paid before playing.
* Maximum of three transfers per player each season
* Eighteen game season with each team playing each other twice.
* Cup competition at the end of each season.
* Usual 5 a side rules apply; no going into the area, ball can't go over head height and no slide tackling.
* Maximum of eight players on match day (3 subs)
* If a player receives three yellow cards throughout any season it will result in a one match ban. Straight red cards result in a one match ban but can be increased depending on the seriousness of the offense!
* (Optional) Teams keep their own goalscorers but send league chairman Taran Ashall relevant information after every 7 league games to be recorded.
* Matches last thirty minutes, consisting of two halfs of fifteen minutes each way.
