Comic Con 09 UPDATE #7 -  Kevin Feige on Avengers

Io9__Do you know what heroes are we going to be putting in The Avengers? How close are you to discovering who the core characters are?

Feige__I think we know. I think it's going to be Iron Man and Thor, Captain America and Nick Fury. I think it's safe to assume that there will be some members of the Hulk universe in the film as well. In terms of the additional I think Black Widow, sure. The SHIELD organization for sure. What's exciting, for me, about The Avengers movie is seeing those four characters interact with each other. I think anywhere from the first issues of The Avengers to Civil War the dynamic between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark is just awesome, it's fascinating. It brings out sides in others that won't be brought out in the other franchises. Going forward with the mix is a whole other thing, I think it will be cool. So to pile on another 15 or 10, frankly more than four would be too many.

Is the Hulk in it?

Zak Penn is outlining it as we speak, so we'll see.

Are you going to test potential Captain America people against Robert knowing they'll have work together at some point?

We've already been doing a little bit of that, to an extent. We're certainly casting all of the actors knowing that they need to carry, whether they are the good guy or the bad guy or a small part, not only their own franchise but playing an important part in the Avengers franchise. We are definitely keeping that in mind as we are casting.

Has Chris Hemsworth [Thor] said that he would meet with Robert?

Oh yes, that was the first meeting of Thor and Tony Stark, it was pretty cool.

So, no Wasp or Hank Pym by the sounds of it. Unless Feige is keeping a few secrets, but it doesn't seem likely.

Comic Con 09 UPDATE #6 - Planet Hulk Trailer

Based on Greg Pak's comic-book storyline (Incredible Hulk issues #92 to #105), the movie begins with the Illuminati (a secret group of superheroes that includes Iron Man and Professor X) sentencing the Hulk to exile on a deserted planet because the big, green guy has become a danger to Earth. While in outer space, Hulk does what Hulk does best -- gets angry -- and causes his rocket to crash land on the vicious planet of Sakaar, where he is captured and eventually becomes a triumphant gladiator.

Yet this Hulk has more on his mind than just smashing baddies. "No one has ever seen the Hulk like this before," supervising director Frank Paur told EW. "What happens if the Hulk doesn't change back into Bruce Banner? Who is the Hulk then? That's where we start playing with the idea that the Hulk is a thinking, rational being. We start to get into the Hulk's psyche -- what makes him tick?" You'll find out when Planet Hulk debuts on DVD in February 2010.

Comic Con 09 UPDATE #3 - Fox talks Jennifer's Body

Comic Con 09 UPDATE #2 - Peter Jackson at SDCC

This from Empire Online;

"THE HOBBIT
We're about three weeks away from turning over the first draft of the script to the studio,” revealed Jackson. That’s the script for the first Hobbit movie – the second still only exists in the form of “an extensive treatment”. He said that he and Guillermo del Toro are particularly enjoying writing for the movies’ unruly mob of dwarves. “We have 13 dwarves to cast – it’s going to be a lot of fun. Though there’s 13 poor guys who are going to be walking around the mountains in summer wearing heavy costumes, sweating under their prosphetic make-up. It’s going to be tough. And logistically tough – imagine getting those guys through wardrobe at the beginning of each day and then shooting… They'll be passing out from heat. It’s going to be tricky.”

It shouldn't be hard to cast 13 short people. I have heard that short people are hard up to find work and they get short pay on top of that when they do find work. Even in Hollywood; so I am sure there will be a big line of short people wanting to um stretch out for any role possible in The Hobbit. Whatever short people are left with out a role in The Hobbit should really try out to be a seeing eye person. I'm sure blind people would love to have a short person to walk them around besides some stupid dog.
