Introduction: Tickets Please!

Tickets please! Tickets! You need a ticket before you can enter. You have a ticket, 'cause if you don't, you're a fighter. You have one? Let's see it. Hmm... in order. You may enter.

The Mushroom Bowl is home to a variety of enertaining events, including fights. I'm hosting the Mushroom Bowl tournament to see which is the strongest. Anyone can come in, as long as they can belong to a Faction (see the rules below). The winner is decided by you, you, and you over by the fridge. Simply vote in the poll for the winner and eventually I'll close the thing and post the fight.

Let the games begin!

Mushroom Bowl: Rules

The Mushroom Bowl tournment is a contest between 16 contestants, half from the Mushroom Kingdom and its supporters (known as the Mushroom Faction) and the other half from everywhere else (known as the Opponent Faction), who compete to see who is the top fighter. Whoever can defeat his/her fellow Faction members will become Faction Champion, and the two Faction Champions square off in a Grand Champtionship match to determine the strongest of all!

The winner of matches are determined by polls. Depending on the round, they last from two to five weeks. Some can go longer, depending on how often I can get on the computer to close the poll and tally the results.

Quarterfinals

Quarterfinal rounds toggle between fights between the two Factions, starting with the Mushroom Faction. Two fighters from the Faction face off in a one-on-one battle. The winner of the round continues to the Semifinals as a Semifinalist, while the loser is eliminated from the tournament for the duration of the season. Voting for Quarterfinal matches lasts for two weeks.

Semifinals

Semifinal rounds, like Quarterfinals, toggle between the two Factions, starting with the Mushroom Faction. Two Semifinalists from the Faction face off in another one-on-one fight. The winner of the round continues to the finals as a Finalist, while the loser is eliminated from the tournament for the duration of the season. Voting for Semifinal matches lasts for three weeks.

Finals

There are two Final rounds: one for the Mushroom Faction and one for the Opponent Faction. The Mushroom Faction's round comes first. The two Finalists from the Faction face off in yet another one-on-one fight. The winner of the round becomes the Faction's Faction Champion, while the loser... must I repeat myself? Voting for Final matches last for four weeks.

Grand Championship

The final match of the tournament is the Grand Championship match. This match faces off the season's two Faction Champions to determine which Faction is the strongest. The winner is the Grand Champion for that season and recieves the Mushroom Bowl Fighter's Cup. Also, they can choose to either referee or announce for the next season. Grand Champions are disqualified for participation in future seasons. Voting for Grand Championship matches lasts for five weeks.

Random Events

Up to three times during any match, at the choosing of the tournament organizer (me), a random event will occur in the battle ring to liven things up. These can range from Chain Chomps swarming the ring to coins falling in to lava flooding the arena. Why do we have them? Because I want to have them! If you have any suggestions for how to aggrivate the fighers, e-mail them to me so I can add them to the list of events to occur any time during the season. Each of the four stages of the tournament (Quarterfinal, Semifinal, Final, and Grand Champion) have different set of thirteen random events. The list of Random Events for each stage will be posted below the battle archive when that stage is over.
