Mt. Majesty

Long live the Game Over!

What is the Experience Tracker?

Unless I e-mail someone and ask for permission to use a story they posted somewhere else, I often don't get other people's work on the site. That is not at all what I wanted; I wanted Mt. Majesty to be someplace anyone can send their stuff when they want to.

Apparently what you people need is motivation. So I'm opening up a new system on Mt. Majesty: the Experience Tracker!

The Experience Tracker is similar in concept to Lemmy's Land's Koopaling Votes system. When you send me stuff and I post it, you recieve EXP. As you continue to gain EXP, you gain levels.

How Does the Experience Tracker Work?

When a visitor submits a work of fan material and I allow it to be on the site, that visitor will recieve the EXP during the update the work is posted.

When a visitor recieves a certain amount of EXP, that visitor increases in level. The higher your level, the higher priority you have, meaning I'll look at your work first.

Example: Two visitors submit me different work. One is Level 2, the other Level 4. I will look at the Level 4 visitor's work before the Level 2 visitor's.

In the event two visitors are at the same level, whoever has the higher amount of EXP gets the first look.

At How Much EXP Does One Level Up?

Level 2: 8 EXP

Level 3: 20 EXP

Level 4: 36 EXP

Level 5: 56 EXP

While you continue to gain EXP after you reach Level 5, there are no levels after Level 5.

How Does One Gain EXP?

EXP is rewarded for the following things:

  • Each Fan Fiction is worth 2 EXP. If a story is incomplete, you'll get 1 EXP when I post the first part and the 2nd EXP when I post the final part. For Forum Fiction, the visitor who came up with the original story will recieve 2 EXP while all the contributors recieve 1 EXP.
  • Interviews and Art are worth 1 EXP each.
  • Written Material for the Comix zone is 1/2 EXP for each batch of jokes. 1 EXP is given for each Short Skit and Comic Strip. (NOTE: Because the "Tails and his Inverse Universe" sprite comic is made by me and others cannot contribute to it, I do not reward myself EXP for it.)
  • Each Movie for the Movie Theater is worth 2 EXP, regardless of how it is submitted.
  • In the Game Over Arcade, Pencil & Pencil (non-computer) games are worth 1 EXP and Coin-Op (computer) games are worth 3 EXP.
  • You recieve 1/2 EXP for every poem you have in the Poetry Corner. If I believe a poem to be high quality, you'll recieve 1 EXP instead.
  • When you submit a question to the Trouble Center, you recieve 1/8 EXP when it is answered.
  • EXP gained from the Video Game Rehab Clinic differs; you recieve 1/2 EXP for every code, cheat, or glitch you send, and 1 to 2 EXP for each Guide or FAQ (you increase your chances of getting 2 by providing very useful information).
  • For the upcoming Adaption Center: Use one of the center's images as a link to the site and show it to me live (not a screenshot), and I'll reward you with 1/4 EXP for each image you use.
  • You recieve 1 EXP for subscribing to the Game Over Newsletter, but you must have already earned EXP by submitting fan material to the site first.
