Below : Ellalong Lagoon in flood, taken the following day after previous photo was taken, the flood was caused by a overnight rainfall measurement of 254mm (10 inches) in the Ellalong lagoon catchment area comprising of the Watagan Mountains and Congewia areas.

This is a pic of a flood at Ellalong 2008, below the Ellalong Hotel.This flood happened about the same time as the big 2007 June floods last year,This area is mostly dry.

This pic below is where the main lagoon pictured above flows further down stream and goes over the Congewai Valley road,the main lagoon is on the left of photo.Then it continues on and joins up to the Congewai Valley creek then all flows down the Wollombi brook,through millfield,Wollombi,Broke,picking up other streams on the way, then into the Hunter River just north of Singelton.This catchment here in my area is called the Cockfighter from way back in the early days.
