Nice to see you again. I have a few
weeks off still so i'm going to try and do updates more often and hope
it will spark my enthuthiasm for the site again.
Been quite a week for the Bees. Started with a battling victory against
Macclesfield. They weren't very inpressive but neither were we.
Probably a fair 1-0 result for the Bees to be fair though. The best
player on the park was Simon King by quite some distance. Seems we have
a few future stars on our hands. Roll on the transfer window so we can
have some security about keeping our small but superb squad together.
The week carried on with a brilliant night in Bristol. A 4-2 victory
was a brilliant result and a good performance by all 11 players,
including 2 debutees in Flitney and Bowditch. Bowditch impressed me
most. He seemed confident and assured in a new team. Flitney made a few
good saves but looked a bit shaky in the first 20 minutes. He's a more
than able deputee to Scott Tynan.
The main talking point this week was Nicky Bailey's goal. Some say it
is the best they've seen scored for or against Barnet whilst others
think its been over-hyped. My opinion is of the former. It impressed me
at first but after watching it a few times it seems even better. It's
good enough to make me buy the dvd from the Bristol City site so it
must be of some quality. I think in Bailey we have a massive talent.
Bailey, Sinclair, King and Lee have impressed me most so far this
season. I think with King we have a future Premiership player. Our 2
young midfielders Bailey and Sinclair have the brightest future I've
seen at Underhill in my decade supporting the club. We have to keep
hold of them and they will raise their own value.
My main track of thought this week has been on our situation at
Underhill. With our outstanding performances of late i've been getting
exciting about our future. Whenever i think of our future though, i
begin to think of our ground situation. I have resolved to do all i can
to get us a secure future. Janet, of the KBA, has been someone who has
been campaigning for a secure fouture for our football club and i don't
think i've done enough to aide her. Anything I can do will be done and
i think all of us supporters should have a similar approach.
It's all good having an excellent squad but when we have no future we
will all end up with no club. Now is the time to pull together.
There has been lots of talk on the message board about trying to
attract new fans. The idea that seems to be a popular one is local
business helping out by promoting the club via posters in their
windows. I like this idea but we need manpower to do it. I'm more than
happy to do this. I also feel the idea the club used quite often last
season of offering free tickets to local schools was good. It
encouraged a few more regular supporters to the club and made Barnet FC
better known to a group of people that may not have seen the bees as a
afternoon of entertainment.
I have bought 6 extra people in the last 2 years and all are now
regular supporters. Its a bore but persuading a friend to come may lead
to similar situations.
This week also marked Chris Nashs' birthday. Unibee as he is known,
once more, on the message board turned 23. Many happy returns to Chris.
As i said above updates should be more regular and hopefully the 'website bug' will bite me once more!
Keep on supporting the Bees!
