A lot of people wonder: Where do they film the scenes in "Sunnyvale Trailer Park". The answer is, many places. First, they filmed in:

• Woodbine Mobile Home Park, on 1064 Bustin Avenue in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. That worked for a while, but eventually the owner of the park thought the show was promoting a negative image of trailer parks and wouldn't let them film there anymore.
• So then they filmed in a trailer park in Dartmouth (Tufts Cove).
• And then, another trailer park in Dartmouth (Eastern Passage) on Caldwell Road.
• Now they film on a trailer park set on Bissett Road in Dartmouth (Cole Harbour).

Julian - John Paul Tremblay was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. When he was younger, John Paul, also known as JP and Jape by his friends, moved to nearby Dartmouth (Cole Harbour). It was there that he met Robb Wells, who is three years younger than John Paul. When they first met, John Paul and Robb were not friends. John Paul thought Robb was "a little dork" and Robb thought John Paul was "the greasy bastard who owned a dirt bike". By the time they reached high school, however, they were best friends. It was in high school that John Paul and Robb met Mike Clattenburg, the director of Trailer Park Boys. His first acting role came in Clattenburg's award-winning short film, One Last Shot. This was soon followed by his role as Julian in Mike's second film, Trailer Park Boys and the US movie, Virginia's Run. John Paul recently sold J.R. Capone's, which is a chain of pizza restaurants in PEI that was first opened by himself and Robb Wells. The success of Trailer Park Boys has opened many new doors for John Paul both here in Canada as well as in the states. Such credits include a fisherman alongside Robb Wells in Virginia's Run, the lead role of Moe in the US feature film Hole-In-One starring Meatloaf and Michelle Williams. Also, together with Robb Wells and Mike Smith, John Paul was a featured guest on the cross-Canada Fear of the Trailer Park tour with Our Lady Peace. He also starred in The Tragically Hip's music video "The Darkest One" featuring Gord Downie and Don Cherry, and directed by Mike Clattenburg. John Paul and Robb Wells are also collaborating on a couple of feature film scripts, which they hope to have produced in the near future.

Ricky - Robb Wells is from Moncton, New Brunswick where his dad worked as a civilian officer in charge of the RCMP Forensic Crime Lab. Robb moved to Dartmouth (Cole Harbour) when he was eight years old, and eventually moved to a house on the same street as John Paul Tremblay. While John Paul was out riding around on his dirt bike, Robb was out playing on the soccer fields. By the time he was in high school, Robb was playing with some of Nova Scotia's best soccer players. They represented Nova Scotia at the Canadian National Championships, and won gold for Canada at the International Tournament in New Jersey. Robb developed his artistic side at an early age with the help of his grade 9 and 10 English teachers. In high school, Robb started hanging around with John Paul Tremblay and Mike Clattenburg and the three of them collaborated on their first short film, One Last Shot. The following year the three worked together again on their first feature, Trailer Park Boys. Neither Robb nor John Paul has appeared in a film without the other. Shared film credits include U.S. feature Virginia's Run. Since the last season of Trailer Park Boys, Robb has had little down time. He starred as Joe in the U.S. feature film Hole-In-One, and appeared as a featured guest of the band Our Lady Peace on their cross-Canada Fear of The Trailer Park tour. Robb also joined John Paul and Mike Smith as guest stars in the video "The Darkest One" by The Tragically Hip and is also collaborating with John Paul on at least of couple of feature film screenplays.

Bubbles - Mike Smith was born and raised in Thorburn, Nova Scotia. He started playing hockey at the age of four but showed early signs of musical genius when he learned to play guitar at the age of seven. He continued on with both hobbies, but eventually gave up hockey to concentrate on being a musician. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia where he earned a degree in English. In 1992, Mike's career in music began to take off. He played guitar and was one of the principal songwriters in the band Sandbox and signed a record deal with EMI in Canada and Nettwerk in the states. Nominated for a Juno Award, East Coast Music Awards and a Casby Award, Sandbox released two albums with EMI and Nettwerk - "Bionic" and "A Murder In The Glee Club". In 1999 Mike started composing music for film and television and has worked as a sound mixer on such feature films as The Weight of Water starring Sean Penn and Elizabeth Hurley, and Serendipity starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. While sound mixing on the Trailer Park Boys feature, Mike met Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay. Goofing around one day on set, Mike was imitating a character he had been doing for years. Mike Clattenburg decided to write the character into the series and thus the birth of the loveable character Bubbles. Mike worked on the US cable pilot called Espia as writer and musical director and appeared as Bubbles in the music video Legal by Canadian rapper Snow. He also appeared with Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay in The Tragically Hip's music video, "The Darkest One" featuring Don Cherry. Just before that, Mike joined Robb and John Paul on a cross-Canada tour with the musical group, Our Lady Peace. As a testament to the fact that Bubbles has endeared himself to audiences across Canada, Mike won a Gemini in 2003. It was the Viewer's Choice Award for Favourite Comedian.

Jim Lahey - John Dunsworth was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, not far from the sea where he now spends most of his time on his yacht when he's not working. John is one of Halifax's most venerable and revered actors. He has appeared in countless CBC radio dramas and has held leading roles in over 25 Neptune Theatre productions. In 1970, long before the days of waterfront renewal, John convinced the city of Halifax to lease to him a run-down old building by the shipyards which he turned into Pier One Theatre, Halifax's first and arguably its most successful alternative theatre company. John first met Mike Clattenburg in the mid-nineties when he auditioned for a small role in Mike's short film, One Last Shot. Halfway through shooting, John's small role blossomed into a leading part—a part that garnered him a Best Performance award from the Atlantic Film Festival. From there, John developed that role into the character Jim Lahey, the trailer park supervisor on the series Trailer Park Boys. John's recent film credits include principle roles in Sleepmurder for CTV, Blessing for CBS, Shattered City: Halifax Explosion for Salter Street Films and Thom Fitzgerald's Indie film Three Needles. John is an avid bridge player, holding master points. He also holds, until somebody proves otherwise, the Internet Scrabble record for having three 7-letter words in a row. Around town, John is easy to spot. He drives an old truck with a thousand pound winch that he uses for hauling granite. In 1987, John founded Filmworks Casting where he worked as Halifax's most successful casting director. Prior to that, John worked as a cab driver for three years and worked the CNR trains from Halifax and Sydney.

Barb Lahey - Shelley Thompson is an actress and Voice Artist living in Nova Scotia, Canada. Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, Shelley lived and worked in England from 1983 until 1997, when, invited to be a leading player at the newly created Atlantic Theatre Festival in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, she relocated back to North America. She presently lives just outside Wolfville, Nova Scotia. As an actor she appeared in leading roles in London's West End, (Me And My Girl, Rick's Bar, Casablanca) and at the Royal National Theatre (After The Fall). She appeared at numerous repertory theatres in Britain, always as a leading player. Radio work for the BBC (and BBC World Service) has included dozens of leading roles in dramatic productions, and many book and story readings. Her character work as an animation voice artist has included voices for Japanese Manga series and for the Dreamworks studio. Film and television in England included leading roles in Mike And Angelo (73 episodes), BBC's Chelworth and guest starring appearance in Eastenders, Drop The Dead Donkey... and much more. Presently she is contributing many voices and readings to the CBC in Nova Scotia, as well as her role in Trailer Park Boys. Recent film and television credits include: Sex And The Single Mom, When Innocence Is Lost, Blessed Stranger: Flight 111.

Trina Lahey - Ellen Page

Randy - Patrick Roach was born in Halifax but now makes his home in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. Aside from some sketch comedy he performed with Robb Wells and John Paul, Patrick had never acted before he took a role in Mike Clattenburg's feature Trailer Park Boys. He did so well that Clattenburg cast him as Randy, the Assistant Trailer Park Supervisor in the series. Besides playing Randy, Patrick holds down a full-time job as regional sales manager for Sparkling Springs, a bottled water company. He takes vacation days during the summer to act in the series. Patrick first met John Paul in the summer of 1984 when John Paul agreed to drive Patrick and another friend to PEI to attend Mike Clattenburg's and Robb Wells' high school graduation party. John Paul, who had never met Patrick before this, thought Patrick and his buddy were a couple of "nerds". To Patrick, John Paul was the cool guy with the cool car. By the time they reached Cavendish Patrick and John Paul became good buds. In fact, they became business partners. Patrick, Robb Wells and John Paul opened J.R. Capone's in PEI. Eventually Patrick and Robb sold their interests in the business to John Paul, who expanded the chain to three restaurants. Like Robb Wells, Patrick holds a degree in business from Saint Mary's University in Halifax. Patrick is married to his wife Candyce and together they have two children.

Ray - Barrie Dunn is an award-winning producer with over 20 years of experience in the television and film industry. He is a Writer and Producer of the hit comedy/drama series Trailer Park Boys. Barrie also wrote and produced Tough Guys, the documentary special for the CTV Television Network which was directed by Mike Clattenburg. He also recently co-produced the documentary special, Team Spirit: The Story of Team Indigenous for the CTV Television Network. Barrie worked for several years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation where his credits include Theatre On The Mulgrave Road for which he won the Moonsnail Award for Best Documentary, My Brother Larry (he wrote the original story, and My Brother Larry was nominated for a Gemini as Best Short Drama), and God's Trombones for Adrienne Clarkson Presents. Barrie also wrote, produced, and directed the feature length documentary, Bernie's Going To Hollywood, the story of a Spryfield taxi driver's quest for fame as an actor in Hollywood. Barrie has worked on over 30 television and film productions including CBC's Gullage's and Black Harbour, the feature films Margaret's Museum, with Helena Bonham Carter, No Apologies, and Stations, the latter of which was a highly acclaimed independent film which played in many North American and European repertory cinemas. Barrie graduated with a degree in Law from Dalhousie University and has also studied philosophy, business, and theatre. Today he is a practicing lawyer with Patterson Palmer, one of Atlantic Canada's largest law firms. He has guest lectured on entertainment law issues at Dalhousie Law School and also has taught Film and Television Production at Mount Saint Vincent University. Barrie is a Past President of the Nova Scotia Film & Television Producers Association. Prior to getting into television production, Barrie worked and lived in Eastern Europe as a street performer.

Lucy - Lucy DeCoutere is the last born of a family of four. Her parents, a British child psychiatrist and a Czech born oboist/knitting enthusiast knew from the beginning that she would amount to something. "Whenever she was lost in the mall, we knew we would inevitably find her in front of a full-length mirror, belting out the songs from Cabaret." Since those humble beginnings, Lucy's love for performing has bloomed. Introduced to the stage through dance (if being a spinning top in a Grade 1 Christmas pageant really counts), Lucy did a number of productions through high school and minored in theatre in university. Immediately after graduation, Lucy traveled across the country with a theatre company for five months and started dabbling in the film industry shortly thereafter. Lucy has held a number of jobs, from teaching kindergarten in Korea to dealing Inuit art to copyediting and public relations, but after finishing grad school in Montreal, she is finally working in film and television production in Halifax, both in front of and behind the camera. She has just finished a production of the Vagina Monologues and is now working with a variety of film projects. Lucy first met Mike Clattenburg at a party during a film festival a few years ago. Mike had seen a short film she had starred in and approached her about "writing a part for her" in his new movie. She met John Paul Tremblay and Robb Wells in Dartmouth a few months later, and the rest is history. Lucy is a vegetarian and doesn't drink or smoke, and when she isn't at dance class or yoga, she likes to drink lattes.

Trinity - Jeanna Harrison

J-Roc - Jonathan Torrens has worked as a performer, writer and producer for 15 years. In 1989, he started a seven year run as one of the hosts of Street Cents, an award-winning consumer/sketch show for teenagers. It was there that he and Mike Clattenburg became friends and the character of J-Roc was first conceived. For five years he hosted the CBC Television show Jonovision, for which his sketch and character work earned him seven Gemini Award nominations, including Best Individual Performance in a Comedy Series and Best Comedy Series. Jonathan Cross's Canada, his parody of a Charles Kuralt style newsmagazine show, aired on CBC in 2003. As an actor, Jonathan has guest starred twice each on the popular Canadian topical comedies This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Royal Canadian Air Farce, along with recurring roles in the period drama Pit Pony and the sitcom Rideau Hall. This year he's had guest starring roles on Degrassi: The Next Generation and the sketch comedy Listen Missy. As a host, Jonathan's credits are as varied as Living Romance, Canada Day, The CBC News Millenium Special, The East Coast Music Awards and Sesame Park. In film, he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 1999 Atlantic Film Festival for his feature debut in Thom Fitzgerald's Beefcake. His first romantic comedy, The Breadmaker, premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in 2003. Jonathan's long list of accomplishments extends beyond television. He has produced and co-written two award-winning shorts, also with Mike Clattenburg: Liquor Store, which won Best Short and Best Director at the Atlantic Film Festival in 1996, and Nan's Taxi, which won the Gemini Award for Best Short Drama in 1997.

Tyrone - Tyrone Parsons a.k.a. Knucklehead is from Lucasville, Nova Scotia and started his professional music career in 1993 recording with DJ Ruckus and Mad Craz (Short Shane, Skoolboy, Unknown, Big, Plus one). After performing over 30 shows all over the Halifax Regional Municipality. Knucklehead signed to Transparent productions (Garnet Estabrooks, C.E.O.) in 1998 and released two CD’s nation wide including; From the Ground Up (Nov. 1999) and EMI 44N/63W: East Coast Explosion (June 2000). Knucklehead shot his first video that was aired on Much Music with Classified for a song called Unpredictable of Classifieds’ solo CD. Knucklehead then went on three major tours across Canada performing everywhere in Canada and some parts of the States. After returning from tour Knucklehead received a call from his manager (Garnet Estabrooks of Transparent Productions) and an appointment was set up for an audition for a new television series called Trailer Park Boys directed by Mike Clattenburg. Knucklehead instantly impressed Mike Clattenburg with his raw improvising skills that he acquired from late night freestyle session in the streets of Sackville. In Knucklehead’s first debut on Nation wide television he plays a character called T-Bone along side Canadian icon Jonathan Torrens (Jonovision, Street Cents, etc.).  This is Knuckleheads fourth season with Trailer Park Boys. He is currently preparing for a major tour and recently signed to an independent record label in conjunction with Transparent Productions called Change the Game Records (Scott Doucette, C.E.O.). Knucklehead has released three Change the Game mixed tapes and has begun shooting his new video for his current group 365 (White Mic, K.L., Short Shane and Knucklehead) for their new album entitled Four Seasons. Interestingly enough, all of the members in 365 have a small part in Trailer Park Boys as members of J-Roc's gang, The Rocpile.

Sarah - Sarah Dunsworth made her acting debut at the age of six as the Virgin Mary on stage at Dalhousie Elementary School. "She was brilliant," says her mother, who herself had been acting at Halifax's Pier One Theatre during the seventies. At the age of 8, Sarah performed in the murder mystery And when I wake… at Neptune Theatre. "She stole the show," says her father, John Dunsworth. Besides stage, Sarah performed in CBC radio Dramas, a CBC Television Drama The Lamplighter and others. She also did some commercial work. Sarah returned to Canadian television as the character "Sarah" on Trailer Park Boys. She loves working with the wonderful cast and crew on the show.

Cory - Cory Bowles is an actor and dancer. He began his dance training in his bedroom in Truro through old movies and library videos. In high school, he formed the band Hip Club Groove with whom he toured for Universal Records, and appeared in several music videos. He spent 4 summers at the Nosco Academy of Theatre Arts as a movement and improvisation instructor before forming a touring theatre company in 1997. In 1999 he auditioned for Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in Calgary and became a scholarship student, which led him to touring with the company and teaching at the school. Cory found his home in roots jazz and dance of the African diaspora and continues to study its traditions and advancements, travelling to the Caribbean and Brazil to study afro-roots. Cory has choreographed for theatre, film, television and music videos and has appeared in a show about the roots of hip hop which he co-created. He is currently teaching and choreographing for the Maritime Dance Performance Group, Halifax Dance, Jazz Bliss, and continues to choreograph for his dance company Verve Mwendo. Besides dancing, he now divides his time teaching, acting in the television series Trailer Park Boys, providing the voice for the animated series Poko, and playing in his band Dream Brother.
