‘Sunnyvale’ is a 250 year old mews cottage set in a peaceful location (The Bolts) just two minutes from the beach in the heart of old Robin Hood's Bay. The property is typical of the Bay displaying many original features such as shipboard panelling, stone walls and cosy corners whilst also offering suitable and spacious holiday accommodation for families and groups.

Offering three bedrooms, including a king size four poster, a double brass bed and a twin room, the cottage will easily sleep 6 and is well appointed with modern conveniences including comfortable living room with all usual home entertainments, delightful reading snug and a good hot shower bathroom.

In keeping with many Bay properties the large kitchen is located in a cottage annex over the path, set in its own private terrace which overlooks the brook – ideal for sunny breakfasts, barbecues and sitting out sipping wine well into the evening. As its name suggests ‘Sunnyvale’ has a south facing aspect which enjoys all day sunshine.

‘Sunnyvale’ is steeped in sealore. It is a former residence of the Storm family, one of the most prominent (and apt!) seafaring names in the Bay.  The house was also once home to a William Todd Anderson, skipper of ‘The Visitor’, famously wrecked off the Bay in 1881 with the crew eventually being saved in one of the most dramatic and courageous lifeboat rescues in local history. Even The Bolts has its own unique interest, so named because it was the principle escape route for smugglers fleeing Customs & Excise officers and for local lads avoiding the marauding Press Gangs.

Today 'Sunnyvale' provides a tranquil bolt hole and perfect holiday base for exploring the coast and North Yorkshire Moors. Unloading-loading is a gentle 30 yards from the front door with no uphill climb!.
