The Sunny Mechanic.
The Sunny Mechanic are a band that draws their inspiration from all facets of life. Lyrically they draw influence from the scriptures of the saints, talking of god, grace and law, forgiveness, salvation and damnation. They tell stories of people who live in the nooks and cracks of life, they talk of rain dogs and sun children. These whiskey fueled, charismatic characters are not unlike the bands own members, and a number of aspects that are evident in these characters are based upon the members.
The guitarists draw their own inspiration from early rock, grunge and blues. Every riff from each track is keenly original, these tunes speak of loss, loneliness, hope and bitter sweet melancholy, they hold an atmosphere to them that leaves you a little nostalgic, and in need of a stiff drink and a healthy sized cigar.
The Sunny Mechanic have been together for approx. 2 years, having begun playing gigs around Newcastle about one year ago. They have played a variety of gigs at venues see here
Quotes.
"A rumble shakes the ground as one Mr. Howling Thommy B arches his back and roars into the empty heavens, guitars flash like lightning, leaving sparks hanging in the air. Like a heavy, distant storm, drums can be heard crashing and raging throughout the night."
Samual Byfield, "The Critical Review".
"Can you stick a carrier pigeon inside of a computer?-Tom"
"Thom, I want your baby!"-Brooke Tippt, The Cambridge Hotel.
