Clash and Flash Cutlass: This was the cutlass used for my Captain Jack cosplay Posted on Thur 6 Jun 2007 00:11:30 AM. It was made for children aged 6+ so it was a little small and the bandolier almost didn't fit, but being a petite person helped X3 I was the smallest Jack Sparrow cosplayer there and one of only two girls (Besides Mel who cosplayed as a woman, so that doesn't really count). Bought this item at Woolworths as part of a promotional 'Buy one get one half price' deal. RRP £9.98 and a saving of £4.99.
The Rundown: About a yard long from hilt to tip and made of durable plastic. Takes 3 AA batteries and flashes with fencing sound effects when the sword makes contact with an object. Took the three of us to figure out how the bloody thing works teehee. Hours of whacking each other. Es macht viel spass! It was a bit of a bother walking through doorways and turning around. The cutlass is so light weight that I forget it's there and almost impale myself when I'm sitting down. Had to keep hold of it when Mel and I were on the dance machine (Dancing to Captain Jack, no less). Paint job is pretty good actually, no chipping at all after said hours of bashing each other. I highly recommend avoiding the facial area as we nearly had an eye out =/ Bandolier is made of PVC and also highly durable if easily creased.

Display: An actual cardboard display! I have to thank my wonderful Mother for this one XD We were out shopping down town and visited Woolies for some reason. DVDs I expect (3 for £15, bargain!). As usual I wondered down to the toy section to see if there's any newly released POTC products. Low and behold, they had put up a new display to promote Dead Man's Chest. There was nothing I already have accept the actual wall display ^_~ So...I was way too shy to ask the shop assistant whether I could purchase one of these...and that was where my gracious Mother came to the rescue! She hunted down an assistant and literally begged her to sell the display piece to me. There was much havoc and the request and hunting down of the store manager teehee. To cut a long story short, the manager decided to let me have a piece of the display for Free! What a nice lady. Muchos appreciations! I gave it a personal rating of 1/5 because, well, it's a wall display. I suppose it's collectable though and not many people would have them.

Calendar Cards: Yet another eBay item, bought from Bankok, Thailand. Apparently, they have alot of Pirates. Merchandise over there. Some of it may be pirated of course. Excuse the pun. It was pretty cheap, £2.99, but the P&P was £6.99. It was delivered in a small white envelope, very inconspicous XD I was asleep when I was attacked by this flying envelope from my Father. Hehe. I suppose you're meant to carry one of the cards with you in your wallet to keep track of the date. I however, have removed them from their original packaging and arranged them in a gold frame. Currently hung on my bedroom wall (Shrine to Pirates).
The Rundown: Promotional item for Dead Man's Chest, featuring Captain Jack Sparrow (The eBay seller also had the same items featuring Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Davy Jones) on the front and a yearly calendar printed on the back. Decorated with the Dead Man's Chest icons such as Kraken tentacles, Chest of Davy Jones, The Key, Maps, The Black Pearl and the ever popular Skull and Cross Torches. Printed on thick high quality card that is glossy ^_^ Same size and dimension as a credit card..

PSP Sticker Cover: Found this on a random eBay list, came with a CD copy of POTC wallpapers for the PSP. I didn't actually own a PSP when I bought this item. It was literally purchased on a whim and coincedently, one of the first 10 things I ever bought from eBay.
The Rundown: Yet another promotion to Dead Man's Chest, but this time it's towards the PSP game instead of the movie (I've recently purchased a PSP console a couple of weeks ago and it came with the DMC game. However, I can't play it yet because I don't have the Memory Stick Duo required to play the game T_T awwah!). Features the voodoo Jack Sparrow and Sparrow on the front, complete with console buttons cut-outs. Will and Elizabeth grace the back sticker and a larger print of the voodoo Sparrow on the left side. A central piece features the infamous Pirates 2. icon. The CD copy included the matching wallpaper which should have been available on http://www.pure-magazine.co.uk/skins plus some extras that the eBay seller decided to include. This item has a rating of 1/5 because it's obviously not durable after long periods of holding your console and I doubt it would come off "in one piece" if you suddenly decide you don't want to have your sticker cover on anymore. Also probably leaving a nasty sticky residue when removed. Status is: No longer collectable because it has been removed from the original magazine. I draw to the conclusion that this sticker has been printed on high quality sticky back paper and has been packaged in the original plastic covering (I can tell because of the creases). Ending with, not worth £7.49 if you're after a good PSP sticker Decals.

Jigsaw Puzzle: Two of them, on special offer at the time in 'The Entertainers' on the Cheshire Oaks Coliseum. £6 for one puzzle originally, but it was 'Buy one get one free' for a limited time only. An excellent day that was ^^ I'm such a frequent customer at toyshops. Yesh, I am. Hunting for Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise as always of course! I opened one of the puzzles (The one featuring Jack Sparrow and Will Turner) and completed the puzzle in just under an hour. I gave this product a rating of 2/5 because other than the completion of the puzzle, there is nothing else entertaining about it. However, it is now mounted on card and framed in wood and glass (The frame was purchased at a local 'Wilkinsons' in Ellesmere Port for £5.99) I also included a little quotation underneathe the puzzle to give the framed puzzle a completed look.

Jack Sparrow: How did you get here?
Will Turner: Sea turtles, mate. Two of them. Strapped to my feet.
Jack Sparrow: Not so easy, is it?

The Rundown: An official Disney Puzzle with 250 pieces, 48.5 cm x 33.5 cm. Features a "collage" of Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest movie stills. Produced by Clementoni and made in Italy. Recommended video: Oh wait, they've already done it. Heavy Metal style. I'm sure there's room for a brass band in there, savvy? The band is called "The Democracy" (I think) - Pirates Of The Caribbean Theme Cover.

Movie Bag: Currently situated on my wall, like the rest of my stuff. This movie bag is just abit larger than A4 sized and fun to look at. One of the most eye-catching objects in my room. If you could navigate around it, to be honest. You may need a magic compass XD I bought this because it was different and mainly because it was shiny. I'm a sucker for shiny objects.
The Rundown: This activity bag is in all purposes a promotional item. Inside the shiny material (Which makes me oh so happy), contains a huge movie poster with pirateological information aimed at children, some chocolate and a toy. The toy is a very simple freesbie that comes with a packet of stickers you can stick on them to make it look: Pirate-ish. There was also a "Dead Man's Slate" one of those things you use a plastic stick to draw on the material, and when you've finished; you can start again by lifting the plastic up and bringing it back down to clear it. On the more interesting side, we have a "Ball Maze" game. You'll find these in most party bags, but this one features the comic version of Captain Jack Sparrow. I must say he looks more "Manly" drawn this way. Also included was a rubber skeleton. Rather random, but I assume it plays from the skeletons featured in the first film Curse of the Black Pearl. The information is based solely on movie facts and to promote the storyline. The artwork is quite impressive and is aimed at children as I have said before. Shiny. The layout shows the two most popular characters from the film, Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. This is purely eye-catching. Hey, it worked.
