This terrific documentary explores and celebrates the films and themes of the Mexican Film Industry from 1936 to the late 1950's. Mexican Cinema truly blossomed during this golden age – In 1949 alone Mexico produced over 100 features. “Golden Era” showcases works by famous Mexican directors such as Emilio Fernandez and Ismael Rodriguez and famous Mexican actors such as Dolores Del Rio. Maria Felíx, Sara García, Pedro Armendariz, Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, and German Valdez “Tin Tan”. Rare footage and revealing interviews make this a great introduction to the era, a stimulating stroll down to memory lane, and helps bring the importance of this period in world cinema to the viewer.
