The Reader Fire Department has alot of tools to help the citizens of Reader and surrounding areas take care of their emergency situation. We are equipped with the Jaws of life in case of entrapment. We have air packs incase the smoke is to heavy at any on given fire. We are equipped with a deluge gun for fires you can't get close to, and on our brush truck we have a leaf blower and water packs you put on your back incase of a Brush fire that has gone out of control and you can't reach with the trucks. The Fire Department has alot of hose for the big fires. Just to name some small things would be: Chain saw for trees across the road, Flares, Portable pumps, some small things that other big departments might overlook.
