Victoria began Highland dancing at the age of 8. A long-time student of world-renowned Highland dance instructor and judge Marguerite Reid, Anderson competed for over 18 years internationally in Highland dancing competitions, winning over 30 Championships in the United States, Canada and Scotland. She represented the Eastern Region in the United States National Championships for ten consecutive years, finishing in the top 3 for three consecutive years.
A veteran performer and choreographer, Victoria also has toured internationally with Schiehallion (“she-hal-e-un”), one of Canada’s most acclaimed Dance companies. In 1998, she choreographed and performed in a nationally televised PBS production with the Celtic rock band, Seven Nations.
Having passed her teachers exam in 1990 and her judges exam in 2002, Victoria adjudicates Highland dance competitions and teaches workshops throughout North America. She currently resides in Irmo, SC with her husband Neil, an accomplished piper, and her two sons, Colin, 10 and Jamie, 1.
Inspired by friends her age who were attending Highland dancing classes, Laura began Highland dancing at the age of 7. After several years of successful competition, Laura took a break from Highland dancing. When she returned to at age 18, Laura quickly moved up the ranks to the Premier competition level and garnered awards from competitions along the east coast and Scotland.
In June, 2005 Laura passed her teachers exam. Now a certified Highland Dance instructor, Laura teaches Highland dancing in Charleston, SC, where she recently purchased her first home.
