Master Huang Zongxi

 

In the first year of the reign of Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty, a 19 year old lad had the courage and determination to go all the way along from Zhejiang to Beijing with a memorial and an iron hammer to file an Imperial Appeal to the Emperor against the eunuch clique for framing and tortured his father to death.

 

However when Master Zongxi, arrived in the capital, the head of the evil eunuch clique, Wei Zhongxian had committed suicide to escape punishment. So the Master could only beat up a eunuch clique remnant, Xu Xianchun, with his iron hammer in the Court of Law, and pull off the beard of another eunuch clique lackey, Cui Yingyuan at the prison gate, before going back home to offer sacrifices at his father’s grave.

 

The people admired what he did against the evil eunuch clique, calling him respectfully, “filial son Huang.”

 

Master Huang Zongxi, later became one of the 3 Great Confucian Scholars of the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. Master Huang was also very learned in Taoism and Buddhism.

 

He had a good command of astonomy, mathematics, music and history. Master Huang Zongxi, had made the greatest achievement in the field of History.

 

Master Zongxi also pioneers in democratic thinking. He wrote “The Notes on Reform of Political System.

 

After the Ming Dynasty had perished, the Qing Government 3 times offered him official posts, but he declined as he got strong feeling for the Ming Dynasty.
