Well our Adventure is Under Way!
We purchased our little farm in Wainfleet, Ontario, Canada in May 2006. You will find myself (Tiffany) my husband (Bill) and our 3 children roaming around our 6.5 acre farm. You will find that Miniature Horses and a miniature donkey grace our pastures and that there is an English Mastiff (Storm) that patrols the boundaries and borders. We also have 2 queen barn cats (one has moved into the house I believe) that patrol the farm and keep it mouse free (neighbouring properties too!) and keep our English Mastiff in his place. We have also expanded by a few more species of animals and you will find a few rabbits and a senior goat. We do have two thoroughbred horses that boarder here too!
We did get a slow start to our many projects that we intended to do, it seems there is always something that needs to be done. So we are slowly getting the hang of things and will hopefully see our pond expansion and reforestation efforts come to fruit in early 2008. As for our animal expansions- we had our very first miniature horse foaled here in the summer of 2006 and spent the summer of 2007 getting our feet wet in the show ring. We look forward to expanding our little herd, in possibly as early as 2009. We hope to focus our miniature horse herd so that we can share the love of these little guys with people who would not be able to own a miniature horse otherwise. We tried our hand at showing and found it quite fun, as did a few other friends. We also were able to do the Welland Santa Clause parade, and will be making that a project for next year as well.
