30-05-06: Forza Italia!!

After Belgium, the other big nation in subbuteo announced their teams, like Belgium also, Italy will be present in all categories and are clear favourites to take the Open Events and are strong contenders to dominate the Veterans competitions also. Stefano Buono and Mattia Bellotti are also strong contenders to win the U19 and U15 competitions respectively.

30-05-06: Belgian Teams announced

Belgium will be represented in every category once again this season after they announced their official entries earlier today. The Belgians are expected to be strong contenders for every category because of their enourmous amounts of talent. 29-05-06: Cyprus once more

After last year when Rob O'Hare and George Vassiliedes represented Cyprus, this year the Island will be represented by Paul Andreas, the England-Based Cypriot who will be playing his first ever World Cup.

29-05-06: English Entries

As at last year's World Cup in Tournai, many English players will be present at the World Cup in Dortmund. The english have nominated a strong Veterans team this season which will make up for the extremely weak Open Team. They will also be represented in the U15 teams. However due to lack of players this season they will not be represented in the U19 and Ladies teams competition as they are only nominating one player for each of these. 29-05-06: Switzerland back in the game

Switzerland will be represented once again in the Table-Footballing world, when it will be well-represented at the World Cup. Switzerland will nominate players for the Open and Veteran categories as well as a team in the Veterans Category. For more information check out the entry list below.

27-05-06: Netherland Entries

Unlike previous years, the Netherlands will be represented in almost all categories this year, excluding that of the Ladies. The Netherlands will nominate U19 and U15 players for the first time in several years as well as the usual strong Open and Veteran line-ups.

26-05-06: Spain expected to shine

Spain will be looking to show off their talent at the World Cup when they will be strongly represented in the Open and Veteran Categories where the likes of Carlos Flores, Raul Benita and Vincenc Prats will be present as well as the veterans Arturo Martinez, Juan Carlos Granados and Jose Leon Moreno.

26-05-06: Malta aims high

Malta will be having high ambitions at this World Cup after announcing their extremely strong line-up made up of Massimo Cremona, Hansel Mallia, Joseph Mifsud, Charles Aquilina, Samuel Bartolo, Mark Gauci and Derek Conti in the Open and Mario Spiteri in the veterans. Malta are expected to be strong contenders for this year's Open Team's World Cup.

24-05-06: Two New Nations

For the first time ever Poland and Albania will be present at the World Cup. Piotr Latka, the German-based Pole will represent Poland in the Open Category while Arif, Hakan and Kastri Ibishi will represent Albania in the U15 individuals as well as together as a team in the U15 teams.

24-05-06: Germany Announces its Individuals

Germany has cofirmed its individuals and will be well-represente in all categories. For More details on its representatives check out the entry list below.

22-05-06: Four Continents Represented

Four continents will be represented at the next world cup in Dortmund, with the entry of Kenny Scott, representing Australia, the Nigerian squad going to be the first African representatives in the history of the world cup and the Chinese Team along with the many European Nations are going to make this a real World Cup and not a European Cup as it has been for many years now, with the exception of one or two non-european players. If players can come from the USA or Canada, all continents will be represented at this World Cup.

22-05-06: Czechs enter the competition

After a long lapse from the Table Football scene the Czech Republic has entered nine players and two teams for the next world cup, David Vacke, Viteszlav Madr and Lukas Opocensky will play in the open, Stanislav Opl will play in the Veterans, Stanislav Vacke will play in the U19 and Jiri Cevala, David Vanek, Petr Lysonek and Jan Sipka wll be playng in the U15. The world cup is just the event to get the world booming once more about subbuteo.

21-05-06: Nine Danes in Dortmund

Denmark will go to Dortmund with 9 players in June, Jesper Staal Nielsen, Anders Buhl Hansen, Thomas Petersen and Rasmus Lund will be playing in the Open Category, Kristian Staal Nielsen, Lasse Honore, Christian Emil and David Fredriksen will be playing the U15, while world number 1, Kamilla Kristensen will be playing in the Ladies Category.

21-05-06: Welsh Dragons present

Wales has confirmed that it will be fielding a team in the Open as well as 3 individual players; David Lauder and Martin Evans in the Open and John Lauder in the Veterans, Wales has yet to confirm its fourth player.

20-05-06: Adams on his own from Ireland

Northern Irish player, Eoin Adams will be the only player from Ireland at this year's world cup, he will be playing in the open category.

10-05-06: Automatic Qualifiers List Announced

The Automatic Qualifiers list for the Dortmund World Cup has been issued. Eric Verhagen stands at the top, being the only Dutch Qualifier, Italy, Malta, Belgium and Austria each boast the maximum amount of qualifiers with 3 players each. The list is below:
