RESOURCES

If anyone knows of any other resources affiliated with film/video and communications, please e-mail the officers with that information.  Here we have posted a great resource for anyone looking to improve their networking within the major, gain experience, and maybe even gain some help with their portfolio and extra credit in classes.  The following is a list of current Senior Film (Comm 437/449) projects that are looking to recruit help from other students at Penn State.

SENIOR FILM PA WORK

 CRAZY DIAMOND

The plotline is about a mid twenties man released from a mental hospital with little recollection of his past. He returns to his former college town, but begins to discover that things are not as they seem. He begins to remember that he at one time was a social-political activist that began to lose his mind in his last year of college. As he retraces the steps towards his insanity, he begins to see how he's affected the lives of those around- some for the better, and some for the worst.  We'll be shooting up and possibly past Thanksgiving weekend. We're also looking to fill a few small roles, as well as in need of about 80 extras for one scene.  If interested in participating, please contact Derek Bledsoe at dereksbuds4u@yahoo.com.

 THE GREENSBURG STORY

A true screwball comedy.  Two dimwitted teenagers accidentally hit the governor’s son.  Panicking, they take Travis home, but the next day he's gone before they can explain!  The two desperately try to locate the missing and clueless Travis, who is pleasantly trying to figure out where he is and how to get back.  Contact Nick at njn113@psu.edu.

 PLUMS

Plums is a story about holding onto the one thing you love and never letting go.  Peter Tumbledown has lived a long-fulfilled life and is counting his days.  He has one last story to tell and his eager grandson is listening.  Through his timeless romantic tale of the "one that got away," Peter instills in his grandson the drive and passion to find meaning in his life.  We will be looking for assistance in all areas of production (cinematography, directing, sound design, art direction, among other things).  Our highly motivated crew not only requires the invaluable hand of others but is willing to teach along the way.  If interested, please contact the Producer, Alison R. Coe, at plumsinfo@klawqproductions.com or visit our website at www.klawqproductions.com.

 PRISONER OF WAR

The story is all about a young girl, Gwen, who is stuck in the middle of her parents' bitter divorce as a mediator and bargaining chip. It is set in the 1970s and Gwen learns to finally break free of her prison as the "adult" in the family and grow into her own after her parents continue to "one-up" each other until they finally ruin her birthday. We will be shooting on DV and hope to shoot one week in November and One week in December. Then finish up after winter break. This is a good project for anyone especially interested in Production Design, Lighting, and Cinematography. Please contact Hilary Stepancik or Jenn Gorman (Co-producers) at hbs119@psu.edu or jrg276@psu.edu.
