Welcome
We are so excited that you are interested in our Kindermusik Program. Working together-you, the parents, and the Kindermusik instructor-will develop your children to their highest musical potential and introduce them to a lifetime of music, both in class and in the home. Kindermusik International has recognized our Kindermusik program as one of the TOP 125 programs in the world since 2001. We are listed as a member of the TOP 125 programs. You and your child are invited to visit an age appropriate class. (see the following schedule of classes) If you have any questions please, email, call or stop by the office. I also encourage you to visit the Kindermusik web site http://www.kindermusik.com/ and sign up to receive their monthly email letter, "Tune In", which has wonderful suggestions and thoughts for the continual development of musical children. Thank you for knowing the value of early music education for your children.
Martha H. Stubbs, President
Kindermusik is a German word meaning children's music, and for over 30 years, children have experienced the joy of creative expression through this unique musical learning experience. Research now tells us what we intuitively knew all along: that cognitive, social and emotional development begins in a newborn's very first days of life, and from the very beginning, we can do much to stimulate growth in very natural loving ways. Through age appropriate group lessons, children explore rhythm, melody, listening, movement and instruments. Kindermusik's wonderful curiculla allows the child to learn and develop at his or her own pace. Our purpose is to provide a unique program of musical learning and enjoyment that nurtures the total development of the young child. We focus on the process rather than the performance. Classes are offered to children from birth to seven years of age. Kindermusik is the community of families and teachers passionately committed to bringing music to children's lives through developmentally appropriate curricula, CD's, books, instruments, and activities for our classes and for family time at home
Kindermusik philosophy is founded upon rigorous research and our fundamental beliefs:
We encourage family interaction and believe that parents and entire families may benefit from the growth and stimulation afforded by a group enviroment which uses music and movement to encourage self expression and joyful bonding between a child and adults who give love and support. One of the biggest challenges for a parent is to let the child develop at his or her own pace. In each class there is a mixture of ages. This mixture allows the parent and child to observe the different stages of development emotionally and physically. Every child develops differently. The parents responsibility is to encourage the child but not force a concept. It takes months for children to develop each new skill. When the child is ready it will be such a thrill! We encourage the parents to continue the learning experiences during the week at home so that music becomes a natural and important part of the family life.
As a member of the Kindermusik Maestro Program, Stubbs' Music Center's promise to you is that we will always provide you with Kindermusik certified instructors. We have set a standard of excellence in so many demonstrative ways. Growth, outreach, and teacher mastery are the cornerstones of a strong and lasting legacy that will ensure that the power of Kindermusik touches lives for years to come. For the 2009-2010 year our teachers Elizabeth Kelly and Carmen Mullin.
