Strike Out ALS What is StrikeOut ALS?
Strike Out ALS is a charity softball tournament organized to raise awareness, to raise funds for ALS research, and to show support to individuals and families affected by the disease. It will take place at Surrey Ridge Athletic in Lisle, Illinois and be a one day softball tournament among players of all ages. It is a great opportunity to come out, have a good time, and to make a difference.

When and where is the event?
Date: August 9, 2008 (Saturday)
Location: Surrey Ridge Athletic Complex in Lisle, IL (corner of Abbeywood and Naper Blvd)
Time: 11 AM-5 PM
Cost: $12 per player

What are the basics of the tournament?
In order to sign up for the tournament, you must make a team of 8-10 players. Anyone is eligible to play. This will be a slow pitch 16-inch softball tournament.

The tournament will be a round robin style tournament with all teams being guaranteed at least three games. After the opening rounds, the final four teams will be determined based on which four teams have the overall best records. The final four teams will be seeded based on overall records and then play a game to determine which two teams move onto the championship round.

How do I register for the event?
Registration can be done in a couple easy steps.

  1. Have the team captain submit the online form on the registration page with information on your team.
  2. Download the registration form and waivers (one for every member of your team).
  3. Once your information has been received, you will receive an email confirming your registration. You will also receive your first game start time and schedule. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your game start time.
  4. Bring your waivers and donations to game day to turn in. All that’s left to do is show up and have a good time.

I can't make it to the event or I don't really want to play softball, but I still want to help. How can I?
