Tax-deductible donations would be greatly appreciated to support the educational and hands-on activities of the Strawbale Studio Natural Building Project located in southeastern Michigan.

Description of the Project:

The Strawbale Studio Project seeks to lower the ecological footprint of building practices by empowering people of all ages to learn about the design and construction of structures and supportive environments which are ecologically sustainable and beautiful.

The Strawbale Studio is an educational and demonstration project, providing a very special opportunity for residents of Michigan to experience and learn first-hand about natural building and other components of sustainability. The Project provides on-site tours, natural building workshops and internships, publicity through a variety of media and off-site outreach in numerous ways including, exhibits, presentations and hands-on activities. 2006 projects include a Start-to-Finish Kidā€™s Cottage, Rocket Stove Heated Bench and Solar/wood Radiant Floor system.Ā Other components of sustainability include Permaculture, foraging, native planting, rainwater catchment, solar cooking & electricity.

Thanks to the Michigan non-profit organization SEEDS (Seeking Environmental & Educational Design Solutions) who is serving as a fiduciary sponsor and networking/outreach resource in order to increase the capacity of the Strawbale Studio and its projects. SEEDS is responsible to make sure the funds are spent in accordance with the sponsorship agreement.
