....at least not in its present form! I now realise that Strathallan Junction was overly ambitious for me, given that it is very much squeezed into my bedroom, not truly operational in that location and hard to work on due to lack of space. I have been feeling a distinct lack of motivation with the layout for some time and experiencing feelings of it being a 'millstone round my neck', having neither the time or space to truly finish it. Essentially, I had stopped enjoying building the layout and after all, this hobby is meant to be fun! I therefore advertised it for sale and am happy to say that Dave Martin has bought the layout with a view to finishing it to exhibition standard.
A sad day in one way, as Strathallan Junction has been with me for 4 years, but also a happy day that I hope will assure that the layout is completed to its full potential, something that was beyond me with the space and time I have at my disposal and with my current feeling of having completely 'lost my mojo' with this model. Onwards and upwards though; I am currently planning a small n-gauge layout and a small and manageable OO gauge layout that will once again incorporate AC electric traction and the carriage siding scene from Strathallan Junction will be replicated in close to identical form, as this was one area of the model that I was very happy with.
I'd like to wish Dave all the very best with his work on Strathallan Junction and I look forward to seeing progress on the Lancashire and Yorkshire DCC Model Rail Group website. All the very best Dave and thanks to all the readers over the past few years who have sent me favourable comments on the layout.
