Michael Ballack has dramatically signed for Stranlone YM having been publicly chased by the club over the past 12 months.
Around this time last year, Michael Kerr wrote a letter to Bayern Munich requesting permission to purchase the 29 year old in order to strengthen the squad. Regrettably, Bayern decided to play hard ball and refused to reply to our letter. However, the joke was well and truly on Bayern, not only did they lose 2-1 to Manchester United in the 1999 Champions League final in the last few minutes, but, they also missed out on a reported 20 million pound transfer fee as last night Michael Ballack signed for Stranlone on a free contract. The contract is rumoured to be around £5.05 a hour with double pay on Sundays.
With 18 year old starlet Phil Baillie departing to Bristol, manager David Kerr saw Ballack as the ideal player to replace the tough tackling cental midfielder. When speaking to BBC weatherman Paul Clark, Ballack was quoted as saying, "I am aware of the void left at the club by (Phil) Baillie, but I have every confidence in my footballing ability to fill that gap. When I heard that Stranlone were interested, I jumped at the chance. I am also really looking forward to playing with one of my idols, Michael Kerr and hope to forge a strong partnership with the talented playmaker."
This site is not meant to cause any offense to fellow teams of the BBOB League. It is just a comical site from which our fans can have some fun reading about our matches, and talk on the message board. Anything written against teams, players and results should be taken in light heart as the purpose of the site is to entertain. The site was not made to provide results and normal match reports because that would be dull. We may take different slants on the matches, but thats is to make them enoyable. No hard feelings. Stranlone Young Men is a football club, established in 2005, based mainly in the STRANmillis and MaLONE area of Belfast, Northern Ireland. As part of a cross community football team, the players, mainly from Methodist College, Belfast, aim to play an entertaining and attractive style of football.
However, due to the stiff competition that exists in their league (Boys Brigade Old Boys, Division Four), the "Harlem Globetrotters" style employed by David Kerr and his team seems not to be the most effective. As of December 2005, the "Young Men" had lost all of their games, shipping over 40 goals in 3 months. Hopes are growing, however, that the win is not far away for the navy blues. The key may lie in the new 'Pro-Star' kit which has been promised for so long.
In November
The club was set up through love of football, and even though the results mightn't show it, the lads always give 100% when they pull on the jersey on Saturday afternoons.
However, the future looks bright for Stranlone. In recent media reports, Stranlone have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder, Michael Ballack, but face stiff competition from Manchester United and Real Madrid. However, recent performances have improved & if current trends continue, things can only get better.
Recently, Ronaldinho claimed: "Never have I seen such passion in such an average team." With support like this for the Stranlone, the only direction these young men are heading in is up the BBOB League Division 4.

The Stranlone YM Financial Report 2005 has been released.
The report can be downloaded in full from the London Stock Exchange website. However, below is a summary of the finances of BT9's best loved club.
Income: £250
Expenditure: £280
Debt: £30
This hefty debt is due to an increased pitch fee. Club Captain Michael Kerr has made an appeal to fans & players alike to make a donation to fend off financial turmoil. Donations will be involuntary for all players, and should come to no more than £1.50 per player, although this figure could be reduced depending on it being subsidised by the voluntary donations of fans.
