Profile: Nanook
I started DJ-ing in late 1997, as at a fairly early age I was inspired by the House/Acid/Techno music scenes that were prolific in Manchester.
I first started mixing on vinyl, being drawn to the early Platipus Records. Soon after I discovered Twisted Recs, Atomic Recs, Flying Rhino, Chocis, Cluster, Stay up Forever, and the likes... Simultaneously I had discovered ambient music through releases such as ''Lifeforms'' by Future Sounds Of London and acts such Orb, Brian Eno and Hawkwind.
From around 2000 I started incorporating CDJs into my act, attracted by the versitility of being able to record, edit and loop hundred of samples from PC onto CDR, much quicker/easier/cheaper than marking up the vinyl.
I got my first Roland MC-303 in around 2002, and have used a combination of hardware, CDR and Vinyl ever since. Using a variety of kit to suit the style or demands of the gig, I enjoy playing on 4 CD decks, with Drum Machine, 303 and FX boxes.
Since my first club gig in 1999 I have had the pleasure of being invited to some awesome gigs across the whole of the UK and France.

- Jugglers Ball (1999-onwards) - Weekly circus based night in Manchester, with Psychedelic, Techno, Dub soundtrack to drum and spin fire to.
- Break The Habit (2000-2003) - Regular Manchester night with several local crews including ''Jugglers Ball'', ''Re-animate'', ''Fuse'' and more. With Progressive, Electronica, Breaks, Jungle and Tech.
- Abode Bar, Mcr (2005-Onwards) - Playing a variety of music at a variety of nights.
Since 2003, I have also organised and played at prehaps 70+ Strange Daze parties. Residing most notably in Music Box Manchester, but also doing dozens of outdoor gigs across the UK, and occassional one-offs, such as Aqua Bar, Mcr.
We've also hosted festival stages for the likes of Shamania 06-08 + SheffStock. Also the occassional room at some MessMedia, Missing and Kulu parties.

Since 2001, I have also been producing my own music, mainly to supliment my multi-deck sets with extra loops and melodies. I have no CD releases as yet, but have one track due for release on the next TranceVisuals DVD: ''Das Produkt 2''.

Profile: Mazieg
Mazieg started dj'ing during the Goa scene of 1994 and has had several long term residencies. His experience behind the decks shows in his choice of melodic psy-stormers and precision mixing style. Fuzing funk and bass, Mazieg tore up the dance floor at all of our parties last year and is billed to do the same at several events this year.

The Angry Hippies is dub/reggae duo formed by Strange members Bob and Dom.
There tune selection seems to sit nicelly somewhere between real roots reggae and deep bass heavy dub....and can be heard eminating from the open doors at Music Box regularly.
See them playing at all the Strange Events, as well as Kulu (29-12-06). Keep ya eyes peeled for more news of them in the new year.

THE GOATBOY
In Greek Mythology the Satyr, half man half goat, represents the male spirit at its lowest link with nature. It is the part of nature which is uncontrollable and potentially anarchic.
Jay started DJ'ing several years ago, but it wasnt until the formation of 'Past-Down', that he really started to come into his own. Playing a fully eclectic mix of Uk Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dub, Down-Tempo, Breaks...all the way thru to chunky psychedelic, The Goatboy has a tune for every occassion. During the Strange Daze, Music Box resdiency between 06-07, Jay played several backroom gigs, pleasing the crowd with his regular turntabalism. Also known to MC, Jay can only be classed as an all round entertainer. CDJ, Vinyl DJ, EmmCee, ....he's got it all.
Currently touring Canada, bringing his specific style of nonsense to the masses, Jay will be returning to the UK during the end of April 08.
