Straight Game Records co-ceo and Artist Showwoff aka Danny Ocean; (who is still working on releasing his first album )is actually going to do an industry first and release his prequal album before his first album.
Showwoff has been promising his already fully written first album("10 Things You Hate About Me") for a over a year now; but has came to a standstill due to a lack of enough diverse beats to finish out his album. So, he has decided to release a full length underground street cd (commonly referred to as a mixtape) to come out before his actual debut. The cd is made up of over 14 tracks of original songs that he wrote some before his first album and some during the frustrating time of trying to complete his first album. "that's why I'm calling it a prequal. Because i realized while I was trying to get enough damn beats to come out with my cd; I had like over 80 different random versus I had written that were hot, that wasn't even gonna be on my album. Also I had written more than 15 new song ideas and concepts too. So basically I was like man; they do this shit all the time on the east coast. They come out with full length cd's of their own raps using other peoples beats and call them mixtapes" says Showwoff. " So I'm like, fuck it!. I'm gonna do the same shit myself and just jack a whole cd worth of other peoples beats, and put my own shit over it.."
The cd will be sold out of car trunks, on the streets, and at hip hop shows on the west coast. " I'm trying to go street platinum with this one" says the rapper also known as Danny Ocean to some ( Showwoff's alias).
The Album to be released this summer will be titled " The Green Album,Undergound Street Cd: My Prequal". The first single from the disc already completed and recorded is called "take 2 Hits" and uses the beat of kanye wests school spirit.
