This is the re-fighting of battles or even sometimes wars, using miniature figures, in a variety of scales from 2mm to 54mm or larger. It has been compared to chess with a thousand pieces and an element of chance provided usually by a throw of the dice.
The battles cover the whole of known history and even include the worlds of fantasy and the future. Each period has many varied rules and it is often just a matter of personal taste as to which you consider the best option for the game.
It is difficult to explain exactly how the rules work, but all will have researched background knowledge of the weapons and tactics used at their core. The best way to discover if you like wargaming is to visit our club and try it yourself. The first game night is free and we charge nothing for looking. We do not bite (very often) and most players are more than willing to give you information as to what period they are gaming.
