So who is this Stosha girl anyways?
Writing about yourself can be both the easiest and hardest thing for a writer to do. Mostly because we like to make ourselves sound good. Embellishing my life story is one of my favorites past times, but for my online audience I give you my best attempt at a brief and unbiased bio:
Hey y'all my name is Stosha and I am the writer of this here website. I currently live and study in Charlotte, NC but was born in raised in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) My family is large, in charge, and the biggest theme of my life and writing. I am a product of the eighties (although I resist the reemergence of 80s fashion) and I spent most of my childhood dancing ballet and writing stories. My early works include such classics as "Butterfly Soup" in which a young girl befriends a butterfly that later accidentally falls in her soup and drowns. One of my pieces about an Egyptian who dies and is mummified also received much critical acclaim from my mom and aunts. My mother has recently revealed how worried she was about my preoccupation with death but is glad to see I have turned out normal. She also doesn't read my writing anymore. But I digress. At around age 11 or so writing and pretty much everything else eventually gave way to ballet until I graduated and realized that maybe I didn't want to do that anymore. I kind of stuck with it (for one semester) and also started taking courses at a University in Charlotte. I fell in love with academia and have been gung ho ever since until, well, now. I joined a sorority, stayed up all night writing papers, and drank disgusting amounts of Pepsi. Sometime between all the wine induced late night trips to Wendy's I managed to ace History and Russian and study abroad for six weeks. I wanted to be a Professor and actually I was actually on the right path. I had scholarships and honors programs and an internship behind me. I started to contact graduate schools. Then I fell flat on my face. I got sick, I got depressed, and then my family started to fall apart. And through it all I began to question what I really wanted out of life and if I have what it takes to get it. So now I am trying to find out.
