Here is one of the 5 species of wild ginger that Anita presently has collected in her incredible shade garden.

Wild ginger smells like ginger when you dig it and handle it. It's said that an herbal concoction may be made from wild ginger but to be careful not to drink it excessively. As slowly as wild ginger increases, I'd suggest not digging it for tea...

AKA "little brown jug" so named for the shape and colour of the bloom. Wild ginger blooms are polinated by slugs.
So...Now you know that slugs are good for something...
