Welcome to our new website! We're so glad you dropped by to visit. Stay a while and learn a little more about us.
We're an official chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Stone Mountain Red Hatters (Not Taken for Granite) was founded by Anna Fouts and chartered as an official chapter of the Red Hat Society on August 14, 2004. Anna, now can claim the title of Founding Queen Mother, but has settled on the less pompous title, Anna, Queen of Denial.

Anna's motivation for chartering the chapter was to provide a number of friends, who had lost their mates in recent years, with an avenue to get out into society for the purpose of making good, wholesome friendships and having a lot of good clean fun! A chance to dress up, like we used to as "little girls," with no other agenda than to go out, have lunch, smile, laugh, and send the message that life is still exciting and to be enjoyed no matter what our age (after all, it's just a number) might happen to be. Everything she read and observed let her know that the Red Hat Society was the ideal venue to provide the inspiration for such a group. No rules, just fun and friendship for women 50 and older. Of course, we have a place for the younger women, too. They are our Pink Hatters or Ladies in Waiting! We show them that 50 is something to look forward to because when they reach that point, they can wear a Red Hat!
