| Marshall ~ Keeper of the Horses~ |
Marshall is a Bay Clyde-TB cross gelding from Alberta. Marshall was a ranch horse that was rescued from Alberta ;the year Alberta suffered a terrible drought. Many ranchers in Western Canada were forced to sell off there stock to feed lots and through the great work of the Mitchell Rescue Centre many horses were saved from certain death. We have owned Marshall since December of 2003.
We have just begun to look for a new home for Marshall hoping to improve the qualtiy of his life. He has developed some lameness and is getting pushed around by the other horses. We would like to see Marshall go to a home with senior horse care knowledge. Marshall does require a senior feed. He can be ridden by a small child on lead line and is very patient and loves to be groomed. He is not suitable for a rider over about 150lbs. Marhsall has been seen by the vet and up to date on shots, wormer, and trims.
Marshall is offered to a new home with references in the near future. |
| Kashmir ~Paradise on Earth~ |
Kashmir, (pronouced Cashmere) is a wonderful Off Track Thoroughbred gelding that is owned by our daughter Zoe. Kashmir is also from Alberta and was rescued by Horse Rescue Ontario through the Mitchell Centre. Kashmir was is poor condition from his travels to Ontario when we got him in April of 2002. He was very thin. depressed and was being treated by antibiotics for an infection on his neck from a bite sustained by another horse on the trailer. It didn't take long before this amazing horse rallied and became the beautiful mount my daughter is madly in love with now. We took a chance on Kashmir because at the time of adoption he was to thin to be ridden and we weren't sure if he would be sound. It has also become very evident that at some point in this horses life, man has been very cruel as he bears the scars of chains and is very leery of men. We have been patient and Zoe has taught Kashmir that it is ok to trust humans again. A short 3 years later, after spending a month with Mike Whitely, an amazing trainer just north of Belleville ; Zoë brought Kashmir to a total of 9 shows, bringing home numerous ribbons and a High Point Championship in the Youth division at the North Country Riders show in Parham. Zoe and Kashmir were also reserve Champions in Youth Equitation and Youth Pleasure at the year end awards ceremony. Summer of 2006 was also very successful for Zoë and Kashmir but proved to be Kashmir's last show season. After experiencing some soundness issues we discovered that Kashmir's back left sesamoid joint was injured beyond repair. Kashmir is now retired and relishes in the attention on Zoë when she is home from school. He makes a splendid lawn ornament.

| Jack ~Cowboy's Kilobar Jack~ |
Jack is a 6 year old registered Paint with loads of personality, he is very curious and has lots of love to give. I purchased Jack in Spring of 2003 and those of you whom are local, will recognize that he was out of a beautiful local studÊbelonging to Lisle Armstrong named Cowboy(RIP). ÊI have big plans for Jack and purchased him to use as my own personal mount. We are working Jack from the ground Parelli style and he is now very quiet to work with. |
| Peach ~Kacy's Georgia Peach~ |
Kacy's Georgia Peach is the 1st foal born here at StoneHedge and we are very proud to have her here. Born July 7th, 2006, she is named after my neice, Kacy, who sadly was stillborn, but was born onÊ the same day just 3 years earlier. It is my hope that Kacy'sÊmemory may live on in this little filly for many years to come.
Peach is a Canadian/Clyde cross with a strong neck and generous behind. She is out of Jenna, (see our Success storiesÊpage)Êshe has wonderful conformation.ÊShe isÊnow almost a year. Currently standing overÊ14 hands,Êour vet believes she may finish over 16 hands. She is progressing very well, she now ties andÊstands patiently for the vet and farrier. It is our hope that Zoe will be able to use her in the future as her jumper.
