About Dog Agility

Dog Agility was first seen as a demonstration event at Crufts  in 1978, since then it has grown into a popular dog sport, from recreation to competition level it can be lots of fun and very addictive.

Agility can be a great outlet for many different types of dogs, the exuberant types can be taught self control around the equipment and it is a great outlet for energetic dogs, the shy or nervous dog can learn to have self esteem and confidence, it is also a great way to build a bond with your best friend.

Most breeds of dogs including crossbreeds can be considered suitable for Agility, and the height of jumps vary depending on the height of your dog.

Is my dog suitable?

Probably if it is happy, fit healthy and not overweight.

Am I suitable?

Yes, if you enjoy having fun with your dog and have a sense of humour.

Agility can be enjoyed by everyone from Children to OAP’s.

How do I start?

Training simple commands with your dog will create the foundations for agility training, commands like 'sit', 'down' and 'come' will be useful when starting your agility training and our methods for training are reward based, kind and fun, which will involve either your dog's favorite toy or a supply tidbits.

Contact Stonebridge Agility for more information about class availability.
