Introduction
Welcome to Stockphotography

Some time ago I restarted photography seriously and soon had the idea to sell some of my photos to support my pastime. Thanks to an extended internet and literature search, I now submit photos to more than 10 websites who sell them for me for a commission. This website is the outcome of experience and web research, put together to encourage others! The thumbnails on this site are from pics that have previously sold, just to give you an idea of what sells. There are three main sections at this site:

one for people who want to sell their art (henceforth starting with a capital A),
one for people who want to buy it (henceforth starting with a capital B)
and one for both of them (henceforth starting with none of them).

On this site you will find (nearly) everything that you want to know about buying and selling photos online. Other artwork such as illustrations, vectors, drawings and footage will be covered in time. As I've also a fulltime job, or more than one to be honest AND want to have some time leftover to shoot some photos, this site grows slowly, slowly, slowly but steadily. First of all a few words to explain what stockphotography is:
"Stockphotography consists of images that are not photographed for a specific client or use, but are catalogued for review and selection by someone who may have a use for the image." Stockphotos are submitted to a picture library and are waiting to be sold in an (online) catalog. The picture libary owner takes over the whole marketing, storage and sales business and therefore keeps a share of the achieved price. The price depends on the license sold (easy sentence, but VERY complicated issue Find more under the link "The license jungle") Typically stockphotos are used in website design, publicity, publishing, templates, postcards and much more. Generally spoken every well exposed, framed and noisefree image can be stock, but some sell better then others. Please go to A Getting you started for further information how to sell your own photos or to B How to spend your money?! for further information about how to find the right photo for your use. Have fun enjoy your stay and
