Crestock went online October 26th 2005 and has its offices and studios in Bodo, Norway, hence they answer to
Norwegian law. It is, at the moment not known how many pictures they have exactly online. Their average review time is 24-48h and then the image is almost immidiately online. Each images costs the same price, 10$ , for the first 100
downloads the photographer gets 20%=$2, after 100 downloads the rate increases
to 30%=3$. They
currently operate on single sales only. No subscription, but a system of credits. You buy a certain amount of credits, the more credits you buy
the bigger the discount. For example Crestock has a fixed price of $10 per
download, but if you buy for example: 100 Credits=$90 (discount
10%), 500 Credits=$425 (discount
15%) and1000 Credits=$750 (discount 25%). There is no
fixed subject or style, but a preference for people
shots. Site statement: "High quality stock photos at a fixed, low
prize." Crestock only exist in English and has several additional feature like "Ask for an image" where people in need
of a certain image can request to have this image taken, still at the price of
$10. They also have a news section, with relevant articles on matters that are
relevant to Crestock users in general and "My Crestock". This is a personalized page within the
Crestock system, where the single user can present themselves, their
images, their photo equipment etc. including an opportunity for a personal
blog. And also a forum that is open for all to read and all
registered users can submit posts. Images uploaded to Crestock can be no smaller
than 2400
x 1600 pixels. There is no test submission for first time contributors, but
they recommend an initial submission of your 5-10 best
images.
There is no max file size restriction and no limitation how long images may stay online.

| Other Features |
|
 |
Funny (as long as you're not concerned) is the display of the worst/best (here you wish to be considered!) image of the day. A feature which makes you understand better the frustrations a image reviewer has to suffer... At the forum you find more questions then answers but the tune is kind not brute like in others, don't be afraid to pose simple/silly questions - they will try to help... There are vast oppertunities to promote yourself (including outside links) and over all the site has a profesional feeling. Perhaps because they are rather picky in their image selection...

| Final Verdict |
|
 |
An upcoming site with a certain elitair flair "we are better then..." But might be soon a competion for better established sites, something what we call in german "Small, but noble..."
