Welcome to The St. Matthew's Anglican Parish. We are a parish that is Christ centered and is dedicated to constantly working on and building our relationship with God. We pray that as you view our site you will be truly blessed by God.

The St. Matthew's Anglican (Episcopal) Parish, is to be found in the Archdeaconry of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and The Diocese of The Windward Islands. This Anglican Parish is situated in the geographical parish of Charlotte, on the North Eastern coast on the Volcanic island of St. Vincent. St. Vincent is one of the small slowly developing islands in the Western Hemisphere and its people depends mainly on agriculture as a source of income.

The parish has three (3) places of worship. St. Matthew's Church in the village of Biabou, St. Sylvan�s Church in the village of Stubbs and St. Mark�s Church in the village of Greggs. The Parishioners consists of a mixture of retirees, (from the United Kingdom UK, United States of America USA and Canada), Farmers and Civil Servants.

VOLUNTEERS FROM THE DIOCESE OF CALGARY TO VISIT OUR DIOCESE

The Bishop, Derek Hoskins, of the  Anglican Diocese of Calgary has informed our Bishop that volunteers from the Diocese of Calgary and our sister denomination in Christ, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, will be arriving in the Diocese (Grenada) in the very near future. Mr. Lloyd Dame (Leader of the team) is already present in Grenada.

 There will be three Anglican priests among the volunteers.

They are:

The Rev. Betty Piwowar from Canmore which is located in the Rocky Mountains west of Calgary; arrives February 5 in St. Georges and departs February 20

The Rev. Patricia Langlois, Regional Dean, from Turner Valley which is an hour south-west of Calgary in the foothills; arrives February 17 and departs March 3

The Rev. Canon David Holmes, Chair of the Companion Diocese Committee, from Rimbey two hours north of Calgary; arrives February 28 and departs March 15.

 He also informed that Canon Holmes has made arrangements to visit St. Vincent for two days and is expected to meet with Bishop Friday on March 5 or March 6.  Down for discussion will be our companion relationship.

In addition Mrs. Sandra Dame, Lloyd�s wife, a Psychologist will be arriving in St. Vincent on Monday 18th February for one week. While here she hopes to conduct a two day workshop with teachers of Bishop's College Kingstown. This is in an effort to promote good mental health in the School through counseling. In addition she is expected to meet with members of the St. George's Cathedral, Pastoral Care, Counseling and Social Outreach Committee, members of ACWA and other volunteers who hope to assist in this programme.  Please spread the word and if you or any other Parishioner is interested in this, please contact the Bishop soonest.  456 1895
