Comment: Wish to thanks all those who have posted comments about this site and our Village Festa of Santa Marija. It has been another great one this year !! It must be true that our Society is proving with facts that in these days it is contributing in making HISTORY for our village Mqabba.
Recent proofs of this are:
(1). The "Etoile d'Or" award from the European Union received back in November 1998. Almost 8 years have passed from this event, and yet this award rests the ONLY ONE in the Maltese Islands.
(2). The winning of the First Malta International Fireworks Festival by the St. Mary Fireworks Factory most recently in May 2006. This was the 'CROWN' for the present 'Kings' of Pyrotechnic Arts in Malta. Keeping your feet on the ground, and working in silence is what really make you the Maltese 'Champions' and what puts you in-line with the best in Europe !! Well done to all the members of our Fireworks Group. Keep it up !!
(3). The King George V Band - It was the band participation during the twinning events that primarily contributed for the achievement of the Etoile d'Or Award. The Band is also the Mqabba Band first ever to perform in the Manoel Theatre, National Opera Theatre of Malta. In addition the concert of November 15th, 2005 has been acclaimed by the audience as one of the best concerts ever performed in the Theatre by a Maltese Band. Let us also Keep it up with the Band !!
I feel honoured to make part of this Society and Band. The Society of Saint Mary and King George V Band Club also makes me feel proud to be native of the village of Mqabba !!
