St. Mark's Barriefield Bible Study Series
A Fall Scriptural Study of Biblical Complainers
Do we ever ask questions of God? Do we complain to him? If so, does this mean that we lack faith? Many people do not know that sacred scripture (both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament) are full of stories of individuals who complained against God and many of those complaints took the form of questions trying to understand where God was going!
This scriptural study will explore the stories of six "complainers" (Abraham, Moses, Job, Martha, Judas and Simon Peter), trying to understand how God met them where they were and what message can be discovered for us today who are still on our journey.
The sessions will break down as follows:
October 20th : The Complaint of Abraham (Genesis 15: 1-5)
October 27th: The Complaint of Moses (Exodus 4: 10-13)
November 3rd: The Complaint(s) of Job (Job 7: 17-20)
November 10th: The Complaint of Martha (Luke 10: 38-42)
November 17th: The Complaint of Judas (John 12: 3-8)
November 24th: The Complaint of Simon Peter (John 13: 36-38)
We will meet on Monday evenings from 7:15 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Party, Room of the Barriefield Condominium (Barrett Court) just off Highway 15.
Refreshments will follow each session.
Bring yourselves (and perhaps even a friend!) and your favourite Bible. Join us for an exploration of God's Word and what it may have to say to each of us on our individual journey of faith.
