William's Angel by Nikilicious. It's hard to say why I love this one, there are so many reasons. Nikki has done an exceptional job of writing a historical fic that is incredibly true to the time period (obviously not the language or else we wouldn't understand it...but everything else) while weaving a story that just gets better and better with each chapter...something that can be incredibly hard to consistently do. Everyone really should read this one. complete

Bridging the Gap by Panta_rei. For all the people not like me with the age thing :P this is still a really good fic. There are plenty of older Spike/younger Buffy fics out there that make it seem just that little bit creepy but Elena has created two characters (while still keeping them unbelieveably true to the BtVS characters) who just...fit together better than most couples in fanfic no matter the age. And I just love her writing...there's always a sense of fun-ness to it.

Spinning the Wheel: This story, by Spikes_Sway is very WIP, but also very good :) In this story Buffy has to do community service after getting into a car accident...but guess who that community service involves? This story is worth reading, even if it's not done...

Acting the Part: By Pattyanne....Think most of you have read this one...but if not, go read it! Buffy takes her daughter Melanie to a convention where they meet William who is an actor...it's a nice, sweet story...like I said, not good at summarizing these things

Blue Eyed Devil: Also by Pattyanne....This story is hot! It really is, Buffy is a preschool teacher and Spike is the lead singer of the band Blue Eyed Devil....it's sweet, but also fairly angsty at some points...Not really able to say why I love this fic, but I do!

Homecoming: by BeanBeans...I think this fic is almost done....Spike's mother dies and he has to go home...facing his friend Buffy for the first time in years....it's a beautiful story with great flashbacks that really give you their history without distracting from the storyline...and art_bites has made her some beautiful artwork for this story. complete

Too Close for Comfort: By Echidna...also very WIP...Buffy is a college student who screwed up and didn't get somewhere to live...so she tires to find somewhere to live...guess who she finds an apartment with? Barbie girl Harmony of course...and Spike's her boyfriend...and what was the basis of Harmony and Spike's relationship again, I forget....

Acceptus: By Nikilcious It's angsty but it's beautifully written...There's somethign wrong with Buffy, but does it have to do with her recent trip back from the dead? and who's going to be the one to help her work through whatever it is? (I know that doesnt' tell you much, but I've read ahead in this one and I dont' want to give anything away)...READ IT!

Clinical Behavior: By Karbear57 ...another of those very WIPs.....Buffy is the psychologist taking care of an orphaned autistic boy..and movie star Spike has just found out he's the father...yay for Spuffyness!

More than Strangers: No longer up anywhere on the internet that I know of...but you can always go buy the original fic version of it over at Linden Bay...I believe it's now called What We Call Sin....this is one of the few fics involving adultery that I like....and i do like it....one of my favorite stories ever....

Long Way From Home: by BittenandStaked...this is really one of my favorite, favorite stories...Buffy is a student at University in the UK, along with her friend Willow. She meets Spike and he throws her life off course....helps her realise things about who she is and what she wants. This really might be one of my top three stories ever. complete

Blue Horizons: By Kantayra...this is an old fic, but one of my absolute favorites...I can't even remember all that much to tell you without ruining the story...Buffy (again with the doing what everyone expects of her) is starting college and William is a sophomore...there are shared dorms and fighting and beautiful lakes...this is a near perfect story that I believe everyone has already read, but just in case. complete

King of Hearts: by Charlie....Spike is the singer in a rock band in London when two men show up one night and tell him.........that he's the rightful heir to the English throne....and guess who works a t the Palace? Buffy of course....(and somewhere in there swimming pool fun is had) complete

Twice Upon A Time: By Goldilocks....One of the most angst filled fics I've read... But, it's complete now so you can read it all at once and not have to wait for an update to get past the big angsty parts....read this one even if you don't like angst..I insist. complete

Backstage Love by Nikilicious. Besides this being a present for me :D it really is very good...it's a little one chapter thing too, so you can read it if you don't want to go and get involved in a big long fic. Very sweet as well. complete

Forbidden by Spikeshunny. Who doesn't love a dancing fic? A well done one that is. This is a really great and unique premise that, I think, you like even more than you'd thought you would once you get to reading it...everyone should give it a chance :) It really is very, very good...sexy too.

Buyer Beware by Just_sue. I've seen a few 'vampires as slaves' fics but haven't really wanted to read any of them before...this one is so much better than the few of them that I had read. The 'vamp slaves' thing is the plot, but it's not the whole story...and she has created this incredible world and thought of, it seems, everything...all the little details; it's not just 'vamps are slaves, the rest of the world is exactly the same'..it's realistic in that the basic 'vamp slaves' premise effects the rest of the world as well. I wasn't very good with telling you about this one, but I really do think you should read it. not sure where updates for this have gone...

The More Things Change by Fibble. This is one of those stories where Buffy and Spike are friends and things happen (I'm not telling what) and you're just wanting to yell at the author to get the two of them together already...and it does a great job of looking at things from both Buffy and Spike's perspectives...plus it's just really cute.

Winter's Storm by Greyangel. Almost everyone has read this, but not everyone so I'm rec'ing it for those people. It's really angsty and...and dark I guess ;) But the characters are really complex and there are a million more reasons than you'd ever guess for everyone's actions. Plus, it's almost done so anyone who only reads completed fics...almost there. complete

There's A Place by Facingthesun. I think I've been reading this fic through living in 3 different houses (random bit you didn't need to know...and I moved a lot so...). It's got stupid, ditzy Harmony, bossy sister Dawn, and super sweet...but also sexy and a bit angsty Spuffy...and an incredibly imaginative and unique plot. (Check out her site too...and not just because I made it.)

Wheel in the Sky by Mrs Muir( Sequel to Ain't No Sunshine)....it's a sequel so I don't know how much/what to tell you...other than it does a really good job of following up the other fic...and like the rest of her fics, is great.

Two Fool Things by Brat. Any fic that could piss as many people off as this one did has to be great...and hey, it is. Notice how I say less the farther down I go? Not because I like them less...I just get stupid and run out of awesome thigns to say even though they're very well deserved by every fic I'm listing. complete

Please Mrs Jailer by Isabel (also forget her LJ name)...There's more and more to this story the more that is posted...plus, it does another role reversal..Spike in jail and Buffy as the warden(/jailer)

Compulsion by Beanbeans...Sexy doctor Spike...sexy, well, sex.....plus it's in first person...something that just works exceedingly well for this story..and? I just love Spike in this one...so, so, so much complete

Baby Love by Niamh. Who doesn't love a Spike-teacher/Buffy-student fic? Okay, so there are some...just not me. This one has a great plot to it though...it's not just 'Spike teaches Buffy,they have sex' there really is a relationship that develops and...it has a really complex (but not confusing) storyline that makes it so very realistic.

My Heart is Yours by Brat. Um, it's near perfect? I really do just love this story to pieces...Brat is a great writer and this one combines angst, some fluff, some sad Buffy, some sad Spike, some protective Spike, and Faith and Anya in great ways that I"m not telling...go read it to find out. complete

Family in Law by shampoocommercialhair (aka Brat and Wattie) so what if it's only one chapter so far...means I can't say much, but...Two great writers working together? And what's not to love about arguing Buffy and Spike? That's always good...and we all know where it almost always leads too ;)

9-8-06: Going to add some new fics to this soon and update the status of the ones I'm not sure about...I've taken a few off, not because I don't still enjoy them, but because this thing would get humongous if I just told you every fic I really liked....I'm cycling or something ;)
