About Me

I am a photographer, musician and engineer living on the Isle of Wight, England.  When not out with a camera I can be found playing guitar in a couple of bands or designing valve (tube) based audio equipment for studio recording.

My favourite subject for photography is landscape although I seem to be concentrating on details within the landscape now rather than the wider scene.

Most of what I do is black and white using medium format cameras and Ilford film.  I print onto Ilford multigrade paper in my own darkroom which I built in my loft.

A few years ago I did play around with digital a bit with a Nikon D100.  I have since decided that digital is not for me.  I spend most of my working day at a computer, that's enough (so what am I doing writing this?).

I am grateful for the existence of digital though, it has enabled me to buy a lot of film equipment which I could not afford a few years ago due to people selling off perfectly good equipment for next to nothing in their quest for the latest all-singing, all dancing digi-thing.
