Ray was born on December 21, 1948 to claybourn and Marilyn Lyford bailey in Marceline mo. ray attended Marceline high school he entered the us army in 1971 ans was honorably discharged in 1973. He worked as a Marceline at various railroads in Missouri, Kansas and California he was long time truck driver employed by various companies until   his health declined   ray slipped from this life on December 26, 2007
