So, here are early pictures of my take on a wood tonearm. Wiring is
being finished up now. The whole thing will get a coat, or two, of
finish once I'm happy with the setup.
The arm itself is a piece of bloodwood shaped into a constant changing
curve. The pivot is a 3mm anodized aluminum knitting needle. I need to
try other materials.
The clamp is a piece of purple heart with a set screw to clamp the knitting needle pivot.
The current counterweight is a piece of bloodwood and a piece of purple
heart. The screw sticking out the back is for fine adjustment.
The base is a piece of hard maple butcher block. There are three bolts
threaded into the base (1 front, 2 rear) for height
adjustment/leveling.
Here's the clamp. Missing are the 3 allen head bolts to mount the clamp to the base.

The mounting nuts sit in a slot about 3mm back from the front.
