For Writers and Those Who Love Them

August Issue

How sweet I roamed from field to field, and tasted all the summer's pride.
William Blake

The portrait above is traditionally believed to be that of Jenny Cameron of Lochiel by Allan Ramsey. My family is related to the Cameron Clan of
Scotland. So perhaps Jenny is a distant ancestor. She does look like my husband's grandmother, Mary Cameron Sullivan.

Marketing Tip of the Month

We've been remodeling our town home and had to make a trip to Home Depot last week to pick up some supplies. I noticed a group of blue boxes sitting on a shelf that had smaller boxes with magnets in them. I wish I had written down the name and the cost. Next time, I will. What was really neat about these magnets is they are for business cards. You peel of the paper and attach your business card to the flexible magnet. This would be ideal for giving out at book signings, or giving away when you send out correspondence.

You could reduce the size of your bookmarker to a business card size and adhere these to the magnet as well. Use your imagination. Have you ever thought of having a car magnet with your website on it?

Here is a website that has magnets of all kinds. This link will take you to the page for business card magnets. http://www.businesscardmagnets.com/store.php?crn=207&rn=329&action=show_detail
