Nick testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs in Washington, DC about Diabetes research in hopes to persuade the need of research to cure diabetes. Nick spoke out to the committee yesterday, Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009. Here is the official video of it all!
Our Message To Nick; we really are all proud of you and what you are doing to help not only yourself but also the 23.6 million others that live with diabetes day-to-day. You are a true inspiration, and if us just telling you that doesn't persuade you then this American Diabetes Association team sure will. Thank You for all you have done, and all your many great achievements yet to come.

On October 12, 2008 Nick's Diabetes Fighting Ninjas achieve an overwhelming step up on success! For our FIRST WALK EVER AS A TEAM we raised $652 towards the cure to diabetes, won a trophy for Top Fundrasing Student Team, and won two gold medals for best halloween costumes because the theme was dress up!
I'd personally like to thank my entire team for all the hard work you've each done to contribute to our success. Without each of your support and passion towards finding the cure Nick's Ninjas never would have made it this far, thank you all SO much! I love you. <3

Thank you, Nick. For giving us the inspiration to start this team. I would have never made it through any of my struggles if it wasn't for your faith and strength. You showed me that even when i was completely broken there was still a little bit of fight left in me; you kept be goin' strong and will continue to keep me going strong till the end. <3 We Love You!

Step Out
Walk to Fight Diabetes
Thank you for you generous contribution to my team this year for the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out; walk to fight diabetes. You’re donation means a great deal to us! You donation will go towards vital programs in Wisconsin including: research, camp, our Diabetes Educators Conferences, advocacy efforts, and information for people with diabetes. If you will be attending the walk with my team this year (or walking alone) I’d like to just tell you why the ADA walks. The CDC just released their 2008 diabetes statistics. In 2005, 20.8 million Americans had diabetes (48 million additional people had pre-diabetes). In 2008, 23.6 million American have diabetes (57 million with pre-diabetes). That is a 13% increase in 2 years. The truth is there’s no real cure to diabetes… and that’s why we need your help! We want to find the missing pieces of this broken puzzle to save million of peoples’ lives… and that’s where you come in! We are fundraising to help the ADA find a cure and we want as much help as we can get. Please help us to find a cure from this disease that’s taking over our nation.
