Stephen Scott Scarpulla is currently performing in the Broadway production of Gypsy starring Bernadette Peters. He was last seen on Broadway in Oklahoma as Travis and understudied/played the part of Maverick. Prior to that, Stephen played Gavroche for over two years in Les Miserables. He played Scrooge at age 8 and was also Tiny Tim's understudy in the Madison Square Garden Production of A Christmas Carol opposite Roger Daltrey. Stephen performed in the "2002 Tony Awards" at Radio City Music Hall and the "Richard Rodgers 100th Anniversary Celebration" at the Gershwin Theater. He has also done numerous staged readings.
Some of Stephen's television credits include guest roles in the sitcoms "Welcome to New York" (CBS) and "Ed" (NBC). He has performed on the "Rosie O'Donnell Show," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "20/20 with Barbara Walters," "The Conan O'Brien Show," "Saturday Night Live," "In Search of America with Peter Jennings," "Broadway's Best" on Bravo and is a season announcer for the PBS series "Between the Lyons."
His other credits include "Radio City Christmas Spectacular," "Lilo & Stitch," "Dora the Explorer," "Zippy and Friends" and Club Disney. He was the lead talent for Symbol Technologies 2003 World Sales Conference in Las Vegas. Stephen has done numerous movie loopings, industrials, voiceovers, CD recordings and videos. Some national network commercials include Verizon, GE, Hasbro, McDonalds, Hess, Sony, Southwest Airlines, Perkins and Neighborhood Watch/ Crime Stoppers. He was a background singer for the Alana Davis Columbia single record "Carry On," released 1/28/03. This song can be heard on commercials for Sony.
