Don't be fooled! The lyrics may not seem straighted ''A'' as they say or the correct structure as some say a song should be, but don't cut them short they can & will sound HOT .... with the right people workin with them I have no doubt. I make no excuses for my lyrics and either you get them or you don't!

I love um and think they are great , Hopefully you will too! Thanks for checking out the lyrics

Remember if you see something that may fit another genre, I am down for that!

Hey cowboy© Stephanie Ankner

I’m in lust with a cowboy,

A man I don’t even know.

I’ve only ever seen him before,

With his country boy glow.

We’ve never even talked,

But he’s surely smiles my way.

He’s looked a million times into my eyes,

And each time, I wish I had the courage to say.

Chorus

Hey there cowboy,

What’s your name?

Are you already taken?

(why)You keep coming round my way.

OOOOh

With your rugged good looks, and

Your (sweet) handsome smile.

Your eyes are killing me cowboy,

With your rustic wrangler style.

So..Hey there cowboy,

What’s your name?

Are you already taken?

(why)You keep coming round my way.

Hey there cowboy, Hey there cowbot

Now I’m not quit sure,

How much more I can take.

I need to know your situation

For heaven’s sake (and)

I know it might not be of the norm,

(and) I don’t wanna step on any toes.

But if  you out there looking cowboy

Hey…You need to let me know !

Chorus

Hey there cowboy,

What’s your name?

Are you already taken,

(Why )You keep coming round my way.

OOOOh

With your rugged good looks, and

Your (sweet )handsome smile.

Your eyes are killing me cowboy,

With your rustic wrangler style.

Has anyone got a claim on you

Or can I place my claim

Cuz I’m lusting badlyfor you cowboy

And I still don’t even know ya name…

I’m willing to get to know you

If your willing to keep coming round my way

Cuz I finally built up the courage

To say

 Chorus

Hey there cowboy,

What’s your name?

Are you already taken,

(Why )You keep coming round my way.

OOOOh

With your rugged good looks, and

Your (sweet )handsome smile.

Your eyes are killing me cowboy,

With your rustic wrangler style.

Who would have thought

Vs1

She was my best friend since elementary
The one who laughed at everything I said .

the one who'd play hide and go seek., is
the one I can't get out of my head.

Vs-2

She was the one who always picked me
couldn't separated us if you tried

We always played on the same team.
so we could be by each other's side

We were closer the two kids could ever be
there was no one closer to me, (oh no, no one closer to me)

(Chorus)

Who would have thought,
I’d grow up to see her in a new light

Instead of being the same old best friends

She’s now the love of my life..

ohh

Who would have thought,

Vs-3

She has always made me happy

Every day of my life

From grade school to College

Morning noon and night.

vs-4

It’s so amazing when we are kids

We don’t ever realize,

These friendships we make now

Are the people who will always be in our life.

We were closer the two kids could ever be
there was no one closer to me, (oh no, no one closer to me)

(Chorus)

Who would have thought,
I’d grow up to see her in a new light

Instead of being the same old best friends

She’s now the love of my life..

ohh

Who would have thought,

YOU TAUGHT ME

I WAS IN THE NINETH GRADE WHEN I MET YOU
I FELL SO HARD BUT I WASN’T WHAT YOU WANTED
YOU HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO.
YOU BROKE IT OFF AND WENT ON YOUR WAY
HURT LIKE HELL. I STILL FEEL IT TO THIS DAY.
I STILL FEEL IT TO THIS DAY.

THE FIRST PERSON I LOVED
IS THE ONE WHO DID ME WRONG.
SHUT ME OUT FROM HIS WORLD.
HE NEW I WASN’T THAT STRONG.
I COULDN’T HELP BUT CRY SO HARD
YOU WOUNDED MY HEART AND LEFT ME SO SCAR’D

(BRIDGE)
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR MY FUTURE
INSTEAD OF BLAMING YOU FOR THE PAST.
I HAVE LOVE IN MY LIFE THAT’S GONNA LAST.

(CHORUS)
YOU TAUGHT ME WHAT ITS LIKE TO LOVE AND TO LOOSE
YOU TAUGHT ME THAT A HEART CAN BREAK AND SING THE BLUES
MOST IMPORTANTLY YOU TAUGHT ME A LIFELONG LESSON
THAT HAVING A BROKEN HEART COULD BE A BLESSING.

I NEVER WANTED TO LOVE AGAIN. DIDN’T WANT TO BE HURT
THEN I MET THIS NEW FRIEND AND HE STARTED TO FLIRT.
I COULDN’T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED; MY HEART HAD FOUND NEW LOVE.
NEVER EXPECTED THIS MIRACLE TO BE SENT FROM ABOVE.

BRIDGE & CHORUS

I’M GLAD THAT YOU DID HURT ME, THOUGH IT SOUNDS SO EXTREME.
IF YOU NEVER BROKE MY HEART, I WOULD HAVE NEVER MET MY DREAM
HE TAKES SUCH GOOD CARE OF ME. MY HEART DON’T SING THE BLUES.
I’VE GOT SUCH A GREAT LIFE AND A LOVE THAT’S SO TRUE,

SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU!

BRIDGE & CHORUS

 LIFES LONESOME HIGHWAY

DRIVING DOWN LIFE’S LONESOME HIGHWAY

GOT A HALF A TANK OF GAS

THINGS DON’T SEEM TO BE GOING MY WAY.

NOT SURE HOW LONG OR IF I’M GONNA LAST.

NOT SURE OF WHERE I’M GOING

           NOT SURE WHERE I’LL END

          JUST GOTTA KEEP ON DRIVING

TIL I FIND YOU MY FRIEND

GOT THE RADIO ON

LISTENING TO SOME OLD TIME TUNES.

JUST GAZING AT THE SKY

TRYING TO FIND YOU.

MEMORIES OF A DISTANT PAST

WHERE I HELD YOU SO CLOSE.

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT

WHY IT WAS YOUR TIME TO GO.

(chorus)

I COULDN’T HAVE PRAYED FOR ANYTHING BETTER

WHAT YOUR LOVE DID TO ME MY HEART WILL ALWAYS TREASURE.

I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE

EVEN IF ONLY FOR A SHORT WHILE

TO CALL YOU MY ANGEL, TO CALL YOU MY WIFE.

I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY

THE GOOD ONES GO FIRST.

TRYING TO MAKE SOME SENSE OF IT

CUZ MY HEART STILL REALLY HURTS.

NOT SURE ABOUT MY LIFE

OR WHERE IT’LL TAKE ME

I JUST THANK THE GOOD LORD EVERYDAY

FOR YOUR LOVE HE GAVE ME

(chorus)

I COULDN’T HAVE PRAYED FOR ANYTHING BETTER

WHAT YOUR LOVE DID TO ME MY HEART WILL ALWAYS TREASURE.

I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE

EVEN IF ONLY FOR A SHORT WHILE

TO CALL YOU MY ANGEL, TO CALL YOU MY WIFE.

I SURE DO MISS THE LOVE THAT WE SHARED

WISH I COULD HAVE IT ALL BACK AGAIN.

IF THINGS COULD BE DIFFERENT

I’D STILL BE HOLDING YOU MY FRIEND.

I NEED TO FIND THE PLACE WHERE I BELONG

NOW THAT MY HEART IS BROKEN

AND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE IS GONE

I DON’T KNOW WHERE I AM GOING

AND ONLY GOD KNOWS WHERE I BEEN

GOTTA KEEP ON DRIVING

TIL I AM WITH YOU AGAIN

(chorus)

I COULDN’T HAVE PRAYED FOR ANYTHING BETTER

WHAT YOUR LOVE DID TO ME MY HEART WILL ALWAYS TREASURE.

I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE

EVEN IF ONLY FOR A SHORT WHILE

TO CALL YOU MY ANGEL, TO CALL YOU MY WIFE.

I’M TRAVLING DOWN LIFES LONESOME HIGHWAY

JUST TO FIND YOU AGAIN

GOTTA KEEP ON DRIVING

TIL I FIND THE END

 MY DADDY

I WAS BORN TO A MOMMA THAT JUST DIDN’T CARE

GREW UP LIVIN WITH MY DADDY WHO WAS NEVER THERE.

I SPENT MOST OF MY TIME ALL ALONE

DREAMIN OF THE DAY

I CAN LEAVE MY DADDY’S HOME.

I NEVER WONDERED WHERE HE WAS OR WHEN HE’D BE HOME

DIDN’T BOTHER TO ASK I WAS USE TO BEING ALONE.

DADDY WOULD SAY SON

I’LL BE HOME AROUND TEN

GET YOURSELF SOME DINNER

AND GET YOURSELF TO BED.

I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY MY DADDY ALWAYS LIED.

HE NEVER MADE IT BACK HOME, HE WAS NEVER ON TIME.

WHAT HE WOULD DO ALL THEM HOURS

ALWAYS GOT ME THINKING

HE’D COME HOME SMELLING LIKE ALCHOL

AFTER A GOOD NIGHT OF DRINKING..

MY DADDY REALLY NEVER SPOKE TO ME

NEVER HAD MUCH TO SAY.

HE STILL BLAMES ME  WHY MY MOMMA RAN AWAY.

IT WAS NOT MY FAULT SHE DIDN’T WANT TO STAY

SHE WAS DONE WITH MY DADDY AND JUST LEFT ONE DAY.

MOMMA SAID SHE’D COME BACK FOR ME

TOLD ME NOT TO CRY

BUT ITS BEEN SEVEN YEARS NOW SINCE

MOMMA SAID GOODBYE.

I CAN’T REALLY BLAME HER

CAUSE DADDY WAS NEVER THERE.

HE’S TO BUSY WITH HIS DRINKING TO

SHOW MOMMA HE CARED.

HE HAS NO TIME FOR ME AND THAT’S OK

I BEEN ALONE ALL MY LIFE WITH

DADDY HAVIN NOTHING TO SAY.

HE CAN GO ON WITH HIS LIFE

THAT’S JUST FINE WITH ME.

ITS LIKE I WAS NEVER HERE

THE SON HE NEVER SEEN.

MY MOMMA NEVER CAME FOR ME

EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

NEVER BOTHERED TO WONDER

WAS MY DADDY THERE FOR ME.

I’VE SINCE GROWN AND GOT A WIFE OF MY OWN

GOT SOME CHILDREN I LOVE

THAT I’D NEVER LEAVE ALONE.

I’VE LEARNED A GREAT LESSON

FROM MY DADDY ALL THOSE YEARS

NEVER TAKE FOR GRANTED WHAT YOU HAVE

NO MATTER HOW IT APPEARS.

MY MOMMY STILL I HAVE NEVER SEEN

SHE SIMPLY FORGOT TO COME BACK

JUST LIKE SHE PROMISE ME.

Nightmare

(JUST)THE OTHER NIGHT WHILE YOU WERE ASLEEP
I HEARD YOU CRYING OUT I HEARD YOU WEEP
YOU SEEMED SO FRIGHTENED YOU SEEMED SO AFRAID.
I TRIED TO WAKE YOU FROM YOUR NIGHTMARE

PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT BABY
I AM HERE TO LISTEN TO YOU
EVERYTHING WILL BE OK. I PROMSIE
I AM HERE TO PROTECT YOU.

(CHORUS)
WHAT DID YOU DREAM ABOUT BABY?
WHAT HAD YOU SO SCARED?
I NEVER SEEN YOU SO FRIGHTENED BEFORE
NOT EVEN FOR A NIGHTMARE .

I RAN TO YOU AND GRABBED HOLD OF YOUR ARMS
I WANTED TO WAKE YOU FROM YOUR DREAM,
TAKE YOU AWAY FROM THE HARM.
YOU JUST KEPT SCREAMING AND FIGHTING WITH THE AIR
IT SEEMED SO REAL , LIKE SOMEONE WAS ACTUALLY THERE.

WHATEVER HAD YOU SO AFRAID
BABY ITS ALL OVER NOW
I AM HERE WITH YOU AND I PROMISE
TO MAKE EVERYTHING OKAY

(CHORUS)
WHAT DID YOU DREAM ABOUT BABY?
WHAT HAD YOU SO SCARED?
I NEVER SEEN YOU SO FRIGHTENED BEFORE
NOT EVEN FOR A NIGHTMARE .

NOTHING BUT THE BEST

When I was just a young boy

Barely in my teens

I was livening in Idaho

Didn’t have any dreams

Life was such a struggle

Didn’t have much of a childhood.

Had hand me downs

From brother to brother

Barely had any toys,

Cuz there was no room for the clutter.

We lived in a four room house

Just trying to make ends meet.

(chorus)

I wasn’t sure what the future held for me

There wasn’t much of anything as far as I could see.

Didn’t have no money, my family was so poor.

All we had was each other and yet

we could not ask for more

Oh No we could no ask for more.

My daddy worked long hard hours

Just so the family could eat

We never really did get to see him

And he never got to sleep

remember hearing my momma,

She’d cry every night.

Heard her pray to the lord

to make everything alright.

She was strongest person I ever known,

The glue that kept us always together

No matter what life threw at us ,

Momma always made it better

She made that clear to us ,

And made sure we understood

“You have to work hard for a living

that’s the only thing you could  do”

(chorus)

I wasn’t sure what the future held for me

There wasn’t much of anything as far as I could see.

Didn’t have no money, my family was poor.

All we had was each other and yet

we could not ask for more

Oh No we could no ask for more.

I can remember just how hard it was ,

Oh .. the life we lived

I wish I could have done something,

But I was the youngest of for kids.

Momma and Daddy struggled all their lives

Seems like they never got to rest

They did it all for me and my brothers , to have nothing but the best.

We didn’t have back then what our family’s got today

but that’s the lesson for us all To be thankful each and everyday

NOTHING BUT THE BEST (W/O CHORUS)

She was strongest person I ever known, the glue that kept us together

No matter what life threw at us my momma always made it better.

My daddy never really, knew what went on

He was never at home; he had to work three jobs.

Sometimes it would be days before we seen his face

He was just to busy with work to stay in one place.

I am sure though my daddy would have been there if he could

He always made that clear to us and made sure we understood

You have to work hard for a living that’s the only thing to do

To make sure your family is taken care of and has enough food.

I would of loved to seen my daddy so much more

But life was so tough and our family was so poor.

There were times at night that I would cry to

I tried to be really quite so momma never knew.

I didn’t want to upset her and cause her more pain

Her heart is already broken and feels so ashamed.

She missed my daddy you can see it in her eyes

She felt so alone you can tell by her cries.

She wanted to give us a better life,

A life that we deserve

But that path was to rocky and was so full of curves

I can remember just how hard my momma and daddy lived

I wish I could have done something then but I was only a kid.

They struggled all their lives and never got to rest

They did it all for me and my brothers to have nothing but the best.

We didn’t have back then what our family’s got today

but that’s the lesson for us all To be thankful each and everyday

ONE MORE ROUND

One More Round

Verse 1
I've said it all before
and I'll say it again.
Our love cannot be cured.
My heart can not mend.
Can't forget your cheatin'.
Won't forgive your lies.
You were so misleadin'.
Now it's time we say goodbye.

Chorus:
Cause you're all out of time.
I've spent to many years
trying to do what's right,
and I've cried to many tears.
So I'm given up on love,
I'm throwing in the towel.
cause I'm not strong enough
to fight one more round.

Verse 2
We could never be
what we once were.
You threw that all away
Now the tides have turned..
There is no more us.
There will never be.
You gave that all up.
Now it's time for you to leave.

(Repeat Chorus)

Ending Chorus:

I'm sitting at the bar tonight
thinking of those years
I spent trying to do what's right
and how I cried all those tears.
So here goes my toast to love
I've thrown in the towel.
Yeah I'm giving up.
Bartender, one more round

 Personal Ad

Vs-1

Took out an ad in the Tennessee Personals

Accidentally checked Looking for Couples.

It was the biggest mistake that I ever made

Tried to have them fix it but they said it’s too late.

Vs-2

The papers only published every thirty days.

What I am gonna do, I had them publish my name

Hope no one notices or thinks that I’m prey.

The guys down at the bar will never let me explain.

(Pre chorus)

Who could blame them it sure seems like a lame story

I hope these 30 days pass by for me in a hurry.

(Chorus)

Better know what you’re doing, when you use a personal ad,

Check what you have done, and then do it again

Could never be too sure... that everything is correct

Take me for example, I know the effect.

Still... I Never thought it was gonna be this bad

Looking for love in a personal ad.

Vs-3

My ad sure has got me a lot of attention,

Mailbox has reached its limit.

Six different couples wanting my affection,

Seems I got a new one every three minutes.

Vs-4

Not sure what I am gonna say to these couples

Their expecting some kind of call back

Ain’t trying to get anyone’s feathers in a ruffle

Cuz I am not interested ... going down that path

(Pre chorus)

Just trying to find myself a nice  wholesome Girl

I figured I’d take a chance with the personals

(Chorus)

Better know what you’re doing, when you use a personal ad,

Check what you have done, and then do it again

Could never be too sure... that everything is correct

Take me for example, I know the effect.

Still... I Never thought it was gonna be this bad

Looking for love in a personal ad.

Redneck Pride

Vs-1

Being a true blooded redneck

Is just fine by me.

I’m proud to stand with honor

For the whole world to see

I ain’t got no problem being a hick

Cuz I  love my life and I love my Buick

Vs-2

I’m proud of my farm boy roots

Just a simple country boy

Wearing my wranglers and cowboy boots.

….I don’t mind the way that I walk and talk

Ain’t got much time to think about it

Cuz I spend most of my time with my livestock.

(Pre Chorus)

I sure am always busy, but that’s how a redneck wants to be

I know what’s need and I honor my priorities

(Chorus)

I GOT … REDNECK PRIDE

I don’t need to fit into your customs,

Just so that I ‘m liked.

I’m a gonna be who I am

I’m a redneck  and I won’t deny

I’ll do what ever fits me best

In my heart I know I’ve be blessed

Cuz..I GOT… REDNECK PRIDE

Vs-3

I might not got not much of a education

But I can surely work on a car.

I can put it right up on the blocks

And have the engine rebuilt by six o’clock

I can run my family farm with my eyes closed
