| Star Wars Battlefront is a great Multiplayer experience that everyone should at least experience once.
Star
Wars Battlefront is a massive multiplayer action game based on the
premise of the Star Wars Movies. Although it doesn't really bring
anything new to the plate, and the Graphics are no where near up to par
with games such as Doom 3 and Far Cry, it is quite an engaging and
exhilirating feeling because it does a good job of making it seem you
like you are in the battle. Singleplayer wise the game is nothing
special. It is almost identical to Multiplayer except it is played with
Bots instead of other people. The Multiplayer should be the reason why
you buy this game, not the Single Player. If you are interested in a in
depth action packed Star Wars campaign you should not be looking here
because Battlefront does not provide that at all. But if you are
looking for brisk, fun multiplayer action you are definitely looking in
the right place.
The Basic Gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront is
to take over Spawn Points (points where you and fellow teamates may
respawn after dying) and keep on advancing until all the Spawn Points
have been overtaken. Star Wars Battlefront enables you to fight with 4
different "eras" of the Star Wars characters. You possibly might be
able to be either the Rebels or the Galactic Empire (the combatants
depicted in the first few movies that were made) or you can fight as
the Droid Army as well as the Republic Clones (the characters used in
the new films).
Each "Era" has the same basic soldier. The first
soldier is the normal soldier who can carry a rapid fired gun and
grenades. After that there is the Heavy Weapon soldier who is able to
carry a Rocket Launcher as well as grenades. After that there is the
Pilot, who is the choice pick when you want to control vehicles. If
you're a pilot and you are controlling a vehicle, your damage will
slowly disapeer...unlike all other soldiers, where the damage just
stays at the same level untill further damage is taken. After that
there is the Sniper, who wields a long range weapons, capable of
killing people from a far off distance. Each army has a 5th "special"
soldier you can say that is different from the others. The Rebels have
the Wookie (Chewbacca) , who carries around the Bowcaster. The Empire
Soldiers and the Republic Soldiers can use Jet Packs which enables them
to hover above the ground for a certain amount of time. The last
"Special" soldier is called a Droidka. If you have seen Episode 1 or 2
they are the enemies that move around in a ball like position and then
unfold with sheilds around them and start shooting. These robots you
could say are a little difficult to control but with some practice
you'll get used to it.
In Star Wars Battlefront you are
allowed to control many many vehicles. You can control the
Snowspeeders, the Infamous AT-AT's and AT-ST's. You can also fly the
X-Wings and TIE fighters and either dogfight in mid-air or provied
ground support for your infantry. There is also a wide variety of
vehicles in the game that are seen in Episodes 1 and 2 that you are
able to control. The Vehicles are probably the best part of Star Wars
Battlefront and make the game very exciting.
Graphics and Sound
wise Star Wars Battlefront isn't extremely special, but they aren't bad
at all. Some of the Maps actually look very well made and the scenery
in the backround makes the game seem very epic at points. The Character
models are done quite well and the rag doll effects aren't amazing, but
are very enjoyable to watch. The Sound is actually very good. All the
Star Wars sounds are in effect in the battlefield. The Booming themes
from the films are very well incorperated along side the sounds of the
guns and the vehicles. Bullets will be whizzing past your head, and
people will be screaming after getting shot or blown to pieces by a
grenade.
Overall Star Wars: Battlefront is a very good game that
is an addicting Multiplayer experience that I know I will be playing
for a long time. Although right now Lucas Arts seems to be having
trouble with the servers at the moment and it sometimes seems difficult
to actually get into a game, that problem will be fixed with a patch. I
honestly have nothing to complain about Battlefront and it is very
enjoyable game.
