Today it is announced that the 50 KD (Kuwaiti Dinar), the increase of salary that is asked by the Kuwaiti Parliament, is beyond the will of the government! It is strange from our government that it is okay to give millions of Dinars to other countries as an aid, but is not okay to give to its own countrymen.

             During the deliberation in the Parliament, Kuwait had given Lebanon 60 Millions as an aid. I believe every Minister should reconsider his country’s history; where democracy was born, what democracy did to our society during the 60’s era, how Kuwait was called “Pearl of the Arabian Gulf”, and take a look at Kuwait now and compare.  Compare how Kuwait was and how it is today.

             Each Minister should know that the raise of every nation depends on its people. When the people feel that the government doesn’t help its own people, then the people will reflect an unpleasant image, an image that we see everyday.

             “Its not what your country can do for you, its what you can do for your country” These were the words of John F. Kennedy when he addressed his nation. The words included Ministers also.

             I’m tired of hearing the same blames every day, “we are just out of the Iraqi war” or “we don’t have enough money”.  The Iraq war was sixteen years ago! And reports indicate that the profit of Oil in 2005 – 2006 alone is over fifteen billion! Yet some has the nerve to say that 50 KD salary increase is beyond the governments will.

             We have bad health care, education and services; each year is getting worse. Stop blaming and start taking action. Kuwait is calling, so please wake up and start responding positively.
