The Healing Power of Confession

https://www.lighthousecatholicmedia.com/store/products/the_healing_power_of_confession

When was the last time you went to Confession? Do you have some questions about this sacrament? Are you in need of some encouragement?

You MUST hear this talk!

Very inexpensive...only $2. for the mp3 (download now, listen on your computer or put it on your ipod)... or only $3. for the CD.

This is an EXCELLENT talk on the sacrament of Reconciliation by Dr. Scott Hahn presenting the historical and biblical origins of the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation), which is probably the most misunderstood of the seven sacraments. He provides an important guide for new Catholics, a source of renewal for "old hands", and a challenge to all of us to deepen our relationship with Christ through regular use of the sacrament of Penance.

Scarf Knitting Project for St. Anthony's Foundation

http://www.stanthonysf.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/st_anthony_knitting_project.pdf

St. Anthony's Foundation in San Francisco has served more than 36 million meals to the poor and hungry. They also provide clothing, counseling, and medical care. As we approach the cold winter months, people are coming together to knit warm scarves to donate to St. Anthony's (see flyer at above link). These scarves will be given out over the Christmas season to the poor and homeless who come to St. Anthony's.

All generations of St. Charles parishioners are coming together to participate in this scarf project...would you like to join us? Scarves are fun and quick to make. Knitting and crochet are welcome and all kinds of yarn except cotton (since it gets and stays wet easily). The scarves should be 5" - 6" wide and 58" - 60" long. Any pattern is fine as long as it makes a warm scarf.

Adults, middle and high school youth welcome... *(including men and boys). Come get inspiration, learn to knit/crochet, or brush up on your skills. If you can donate yarn/needles, please bring them. If you need yarn/needles then come anyway because you can use some that have already been donated.
